Christina Aguilera's Fans Weigh In On 'Not Myself Tonight Video'
'Christina is a pop-cultural reflection of the world,' one fan says.
Christina Aguilera is back, and she didn't bring a whole lot of clothing with her. The star's "Not Myself Tonight" video showcases the 29-year-old singer in one revealing outfit after another — a chain-mail bikini, a see-through raincoat, some red lingerie — in a pop-culture mashup that pays tribute to Madonna, Michael Jackson and others. It's quite a rebirth for Aguilera as she gets set to unleash Bionic, her first studio album since 2006. And, on an otherwise sleepy Friday afternoon, the video has been burning up the Web.
"I just love it," says MTV reader dvnovert. "Christina is a pop-cultural reflection of the world. She breathes in culture just like all of us, but expels [it in] a deliciously fresh and exciting and superior way to all that have come before and all who have come since. Christina is the one to beat: beauty, brains, rhythm, voice and charisma to boot!"Many fans have noted similarities between the video and recent efforts from Lady Gaga. Reader Mark Anthony Sanchez, for one, views Aguilera as the true artistic trailblazer.
"I love the direction she is taking her music," he writes. "Since her start she was doing her own thing and not caring what anybody says. This woman has been around 10-plus years and for anybody to pin her against Gaga is seriously dumb. They are their own person and do their own thing."MTV reader Rbearcuub agrees, writing,
"You cannot even compare them. What do they have in common? Music! Gaga at least sings, unlike [Britney] Spears in concert. But she has her lane and Xtina has her own damn highway."Comparisons aside, some folks simply weren't digging the video.
"Christina used to give videos that were fresh and edgy with meaning and integrity," wrote reader Ericstar. "This oversexed video reveals a huge awareness among her people that she is now competing on the same platform as Gaga. The video lacks depth and does no more than try to prove that Christina is more advanced than the new top female in her arena. She's relying strictly on fetish to do it. If Christina disagrees with the comparisons and feels like Gaga has borrowed one too many pages from her book, she ought to be confident enough to challenge herself and step out in a new direction."But as most fans realize, that's exactly what she already is doing.

MTV.com Christina Aguilera's 'Not Myself Tonight' Recalls Her 'Dirrty' Days
Christina Aguilera has been talking a lot lately about how, despite being the mother of a toddler, she's not your average soccer mom and that motherhood has made her feel even sexier. Well, if you didn't believe her before, the skintastic video for her new single, "Not Myself Tonight," is NSFW proof.
In the clip that debuted at midnight on Vevo, the singer who went demure (for her) and old school on 2006's Back to Basics is back to her dirrty self.
Among the looks Aguilera models in the video is one in which she is restrained by diamond handcuffs and a bejeweled ballgag, while sporting star-shaped oversize fake eyelashes and a giant diamond collar.
Most of the clip, in fact, unfolds as a virtual video catalog for fetishwear, including black leather undies, a chainmail bikini top and a bedazzled outfit that consists of little more than strategically placed silver chains and pasties connected to wrist and ankle manacles.
While straddling a woman in black lacy lingerie who is shackled by the wrists on a cowhide chair, Aguilera models a purple PVC bikini set and a leather choker. A number of scenes find her wearing a black leather bondage mask with white X's down the front, matched later by a black bodysuit. There are also: riding crops, a handful of F-bombs, sexy, see-through skimpy raincoats, shirtless dancing in the rain and a throwdown in a church that ends with a writhing group grope.
Another iconic scene features Christina poured into a black PVC bodysuit and spiked heels crawling around on the floor and licking black milk from a black bowl that she later pours all over her body. Aguilera also continues to toy with her sexuality in the clip, kneeling down between a woman's legs suggestively at one point, and riding on the back, and front, of a sweaty shirtless man in another, recalling scenes from her legendary "Dirrty" video.
The song is the first release from Aguilera's album Bionic, out June 8. The video was helmed by Hype Williams, who also directed Lady Gaga and Beyoncé in "Video Phone" last year. In fact, a number of the scenes immediately drew comparisons to previous clips from Gaga, with gossipmongers such as Perez Hilton further fanning the flames of an alleged feud between the two divas. Aguilera, 29, recently dismissed those claims, saying, "It just comes with the territory. That in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on. ... I've been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself."
To be fair, the comparisons could extend beyond similarities to Gaga and include not-so-subtle homages to earlier videos from Madonna, Duran Duran, Britney Spears, George Michael, Marilyn Manson and Rammstein.

The video look is a cross between her previous hits Lady Marmalade and Dirrty, but this video feels more like Dirrty's deranged evil twin that escaped from an insane asylum. I like it.Christina Aguilera has enjoyed a successfull career with not only re-inventing her look but also her sound, taking us from teen pop to R&B, from pop-rock to old blues and Jazz of the 20's and 30's. With 5 Grammys wins, 40 million albums sold, countless side projects and endorcements, then taking some time to become a good wife and mother, only to re-charge by shooting her first film, 'Burlesque' out Noevember 2010, this girl realy is Bionic. Christina Aguilera Gets Her Dominatrix On For 'Not Myself Tonight' Video
Although sneak peeks of Christina Aguilera's new video for "Not Myself Tonight" have been available online, fans will have to wait until 12:01 a.m. Friday to see the complete video. And it appears the blonde pop star is embracing her inner dominatrix diva in the clip.
The song is the first release from Aguilera's album Bionic, out June 8. The video was shot by Hype Williams, who also directed Lady Gaga and Beyoncé in "Video Phone" last year. Shot over three days earlier this month, the clip features a scene of Aguilera in a barely there, nearly nude getup, followed by a shot of her in a skintight dominatrix catsuit.
Other scenes show the singer in a bondage mask surrounded by dancers. In another preview, there are multiple shots of Aguilera in various styles of lingerie and undergarments. Aguilera recently shared that even though she's a mom, she's not afraid to still be sexy. "I'm more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I think I'm even a more sexual Christina."
"That's part of the change of having a child for me — seeing your body do these things you never thought possible," Aguilera said. "When you have a baby, you go through a period where your body is not your own. It becomes for your child and that's it. Once you bounce back from that and kind of get your body back. ... I feel better than ever. It's a great feeling."

CHRISTINA AGUILERA MIGHT GIVE ME NIGHTMARES.
Christina Aguilera has done sweet ("Christina Aguilera"), skanky ("Stripped") and sexy ("Back to Basics") on her three albums and it seems that her fourth -- "Bionic" -- will stick with the S-adjectives, opting for scary. At least that's the sense I'm getting from a 10-second snippet from the "Not Myself Tonight" music video Christina just released on her website.Granted it's only a glimmer of what we can expect on Friday (when the full vid debuts), but I've never found metallic ball gags and diamond handcuffs to be anything but traumatic. No matter how many times I try.

JULIANNE HOUGH PRAISES CHRISTINA'S ACTING ON 'BURLESQUE'
Julianne Hough had the incredible chance to film the movie "Burlesque" alongside pop culture icon, Cher, and pop diva, Christina Aguilera. And, admittedly, she says, she almost forgot that the two women she was working with are really, really, really famous.
"It was phenomenal! Cher is unbelievable! It's crazy though cause you get to know people on set and you just kind of forget who they really are," Julianne told MTV News about her very famous co-stars. "It's pretty unbelievable and the movie's going to be great. I'm really excited for it."
While Cher has made quite a few flicks by now (like the awesome "Mermaids" and "Moonstruck"), this, however, was Christina's first time shooting a major motion picture, and the former "Dancing With The Stars" dancer says you'd never know she was an amateur actress.
"Christina's awesome," she praised the singer, who is about to release her album Bionic this summer. "She really put herself into it and she did great. She always does everything great. [People will be surprised by her work in the film]. I think she did a really, really great job."

AGUILERA: 'NEW ALBUM IS STRIPPED-ESQUE'
Christina Aguilera has compared her new album to her 2002 release Stripped.The singer, who is currently gearing up for a promotional tour for Bionic, her first album in four years, revealed a song title on the record and likened it to her previous Grammy award-winning outing.
"You're gonna love this record," she told American radio station KISS.
"If you loved 'Lovin' Me For Me' from [Stripped] there's a song called 'Sex For Breakfast' that's really sexy and sweet.
"And you'll love the stuff I did with artist-singer-songwriter Sia and her guitar player which I call the heart of the record. It's very Stripped-esque if you will."
The 29-year-old also revealed that the album will appeal to her gay fans.
She explained: "They're hardcore fans - their love for you doesn't die. If I have that following then they're gonna love the album too because it definitely speaks to them as well in a lot of songs."
Aguilera also confirmed in the interview that she will perform on the American Idol finale next month.
