FIRST LOOK: CHRISTINA AGUILERA STARS AS QUEEN OF 'BURLESQUE'

After slithering her slinky self through countless music videos, pop siren Christina Aguilera will sizzle on movie screens for the first time this fall in the song-filled fantasy Burlesque.
"It's sexy, it's sensual," she promises. "The whole idea of burlesque has always intrigued me. The art of the tease, the dance, beautiful women — need I say more?"

Her Ali might be a showbiz staple as old as greasepaint: a plucky gal from Iowa who runs off to the big city to follow her dreams and lands a job at a struggling nightclub.

DIRECTOR'S TAKE: Steven Antin proves persuasive with stars

Yet it was her character's heart and grit that caught her eye. Says Aguilera, 29, who has been candid about her own childhood travails: "It wasn't just a girl who comes to L.A. and makes it big. It was a girl who had suffered and felt pain, been in seven foster homes. She doesn't let her past make her a victim. And that to me was so appealing."

Director/writer Steven Antin was impressed by how quickly Aguilera adapted to a new type of performing. "She figured out how it works within weeks. She is a little bit of a freak of nature and a perfectionist. This girl is a movie star."

The novice actress found the perfect mentors in such castmates as Cher, who hasn't had a major film role since 1999's Tea With Mussolini, and Stanley Tucci, recent Oscar nominee for The Lovely Bones.

"I love no-bull-(expletive) women, and she's the best of the best," Aguilera says of Cher, who plays Tess, owner of The Burlesque Lounge. "An original trendsetter in her time and a legend in mine. I found her kind and warm. She had helpful advice and stories for days."

As for Tucci, whose gay stage manager once had a fling with Tess, "he's such a professional and hilarious to be around."

Aguilera's famous pipes get a workout, along with her legs ("I've never danced so much in my life"). She wrote four songs for the soundtrack and does an Etta James oldie.

While music will always be her first love, Aguilera is keen on continuing to act if Burlesque manages to seduce the public. "I think people will definitely feel energized and excited."

EDC stands for ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL which is the biggest RAVE in California! There were an estimated 200K+ people in attendance! Now that's how you throw a freaking party!

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA HIRES ANTHONY MANDLER TO DIRECT ‘YOU LOST ME’ MUSIC VIDEO

CHRISTINA AGUILERA has hired one of music’s most popular directors for her ‘You Lost Me’ music video. Anthony Mandler has confirmed via his twitter that he will be directing the clip this week. “I love this song I’m working with this week” he writes before making the confirmation. “You Lost Me”.

[NEWS] CHRISTINA & EMINEM AMONG SPECIAL GUESTS FOR SEASON FINALE OF "ENTOURAGE"

Here’s some news that will be music to Entourage fans’ ears: Eminem and Christina Aguilera are among the guest stars appearing in the HBO comedy’s season 7 finale, EW.com has learned. The rapper, who released Recovery last week, shot a scene that takes place “at a platinum record party for his album, which by the time this airs will be platinum, I’m sure,” says Entourage creator Doug Ellin, adding: “He has a little conflict—a little beef—with Vince [Adrian Grenier].” While Eminem won’t be performing in the episode, Aguilera will. Like Eminem, the singer plays herself—but she’s also a client of Ari. “She’s doing Ari a favor and performing at a party for him,” Ellin tells EW.com. The Sept. 12 episode, which Ellin hints is a “pretty dramatic season finale,” also features Minka Kelly (whom Vince has his eye on) and John Cleese, as well as pro athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees, Phillies All-Star first baseman Ryan Howard, and NBA players Jordan Farmar and Kevin Love.

NEW PICS: X OUT SHOPPING IN BEVERLY HILLS

Christina Aguilera shops at Barney’s New York and Satine clothing store with a friend in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (June 23).

The 29-year-old singer recently talked about her next single off her Bionic album, “You Lost Me.” She shared what it was like working with Aussie soul-pop singer Sia Furler.

“‘You Lost Me’ was a song that Sia brought to the table,” Christina told MTV. “She had started writing the verses and I wrote the choruses. The lyrics were just so beautiful, so simple and raw, but very real and hit you right to the heart, that I immediately connected with it.”

M.I.A. SPILLS ABOUT WORKING WITH X

EXCLUSIVE | She wrote Elastic Love for Xtina ’s album…
17:47, Thursday, 24 June 2010
M.I.A has spoken to MTV News about hitting the studio with Christina Aguilera.

The independent-minded and controversial artist teamed up with the massive popstar and her producer Switch to write the song Elastic Love- which features on Xtina’s Bionic album.

“Elastic Love was the first track I recorded actually- even before I started working on my own album,” M.I.A told us. “It’s the one I made in-between taking time out and having a baby and starting mine. “

Maya continued by comparing the song to her own recent punk rock single. said: “Born Free was the first song I wrote for my album and that’s so weird now. I look back at the time and I wrote such a nice cute song for Christina- then the next song I wrote was Born Free.”

Asked by us why she agreed to work with Aguilera the XXXO singer explained: “Other people were involved who I respect like Peaches and it was like a sea of women coming together to write this new thing. Christina had also had a baby, you know, so it was kind of an interesting situation.”

When Elastic Love leaked websites reported that it featured M.I.A- rather than just Aguilera sounding very similar. And the London born star admitted being disappointed when Christina didn’t want to do her trademark warbling in the studio.

“I really thought I was going to be able to go in there and get her vocals on to the next level and she didn’t want to do it. She was like ‘You might think that’s great because it’s not what you do, but to me I’m really bored of it.”

She added: “It’s interesting getting to work with people who can do things vocally that you cant… but yeah I only heard the song for the first time when everyone else did.”

CHRISTINA AND SMOKEY ROBINSON TO PERFORM TOGETHER FOR MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE?

DISCLAIMER: NOT TOO SURE IF THIS IS RELIABLE BUT IT WOULD BE AMAZING IF IT WAS! AGUILERA + SMOKEY = HEAVEN!

In order to mark the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, Christina Aguilera and Smokey Robinson are going to perform in honor of the late King of Pop. They are set to take the stage on CBS for a special program dubbed "The King of Pop: One Year Later".

The two singers are scheduled to team up for a live rendition of Michael's hit single "Man in the Mirror" on the long-hour broadcast tribute which will be aired live on June 25. Joining them on the gig will be LL Cool J, Marc Anthony and James Morrison.

Christina said as quoted by Us Magazine, "Music wouldn't be what it is without someone like Michael Jackson. I remember going to my high school talent show singing 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and being a huge fan of his album 'Bad'. I know all my dancers wouldn't be behind me dancing if it weren't for that."

Marc additionally stated, "A Michael Jackson comes around literally once in a lifetime. They break the mold and I think there're people who just sacrifice their life, their personal life all for the arts. That's what Michael did; he sacrificed his life for the arts."

HAPPY 11TH ANNIVERSARY 'GENIE IN A BOTTLE'

Editor's Note:
Wow! I can't believe it has been 11 years already that Christina has blessed us with her voice. Christina came into the scene with 'Genie In A Bottle' as her first single off of her self-titled debut album Christina Aguilera back in 1999. She took the world by storm beating out veteran Puff Daddy for the #1 spot on Billboard 200 List. Her single shot to #1 soon after. I'm so proud of what our girl has accomplished in such a short amount of time. She is a legend in the making. No one, and I mean NO ONE can bring her down. Christina we love you girl. ♥

CHRISTINA AGUILERA AND MARC ANTHONY TO MAKE TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON

This Friday, June 25, marks the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's shocking death at age 50.

CBS News' The Early Show will celebrate the legendary singer and performer with The King of Pop: One Year Later, an hour-long broadcast tribute (during the 8am hour) devoted to Jackson's life and legacy.

On hand to remember the superstar? Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, LL Cool J and Smokey Robinson -- plus British singer James Morrison, set to perform "Man in the Mirror" live.

Christina Aguilera: "Music wouldn't be what it is without someone like Michael Jackson. I remember going to my high school talent show singing 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and being a huge fan of his album Bad. I know all my dancers wouldn't be behind me dancing if it weren't for that."

Marc Anthony: "A Michael Jackson comes around literally once in a lifetime. They break the mold and I think there're people who just sacrifice their life, their personal life all for the arts. That's what Michael did; he sacrificed his life for the arts."

LL Cool J: "I think one of the coolest things he told me was never limit yourself; the fact that if people can whistle your songs then they can understand it all over the world. Because there are language barriers...People speak different languages all over the world. Melody is king and I think Michael really understood that...What we didn't lose is his legacy and that incredible catalogue and body of work...We may have lost the man, but we didn't lose the legacy. The legacy is actually bigger than that one human being. That legacy touched millions."

Lady Gaga's impossible-to-avoid "Alejandro"? Katy Perry's instant-classic "California Gurls"? Christina Aguilera's freaky "Not Myself Tonight"? Train's breezy "Hey, Soul Sister"? Usher's "OMG" banger?

'BURLESQUE' WINS FIRST AWARD!

The Edison's basement restaurant was the perfect place for the Logo event, which on the celebrity circuit lies somewhere between the ninth circle of hell and rehab. In this milieu, ex-supermodel Janice Dickinson and ex-talent judge Paula Abdul looked right at home.

But what's Peter Gallagher doing here? Of course. He picked up the coveted Best Future Feature Award for "Burlesque," to open in November.

"I'm Peter Gallagher. But tonight you can call me Mr. Cher," he began, referring to his "Burlesque" costar. Cher, unfortunately, didn't show, reportedly miffed that son Chaz Bono failed to nab the Best Makeover Award.

BIONIC HIT THE #1 SPOT IN THE UK

[SPECIAL REPORT] THE POWER OF CHRISTINA (VH1 STORYTELLERS)

40 DAYS AGO TODAY...

Upon arriving to the parking garage at the Overland entrance in Culver city at 4 pm, I was sitting in the back seat of Karlos's '97 Landrover next to Aiden Valenciano. Carlos Gomez was driving the newly dubbed "Xtina Safari" with Nathan Webster riding shotgun. Once we arrived at the security booth, Karlos told the guy that "We're in the audience for Christina Aguilera." The guy then told us that we'd have to go up to the folding tables where the people from Gotham Casting were located and to park on the fourth floor.

As soon as we drive into the parking garage we immediately saw the team from Gotham Casting as well as a few early bird fans that were seated waiting patiently on the left part of the garage. Karlos let me and Aiden out of the Landrover so we could get checked in for the event. A handsome black guy told us to "just hang out for a bit, then we'll call your names." So in the meantime while Karlos and Nathan were parking, I took the liberty to introduce myself to everyone who was there.

I was suddenly SWEPT AWAY because I was FLOODED WITH EXCITEMENT TO BE THERE. I could NOT sit any longer than 30 seconds! There were a total of eight fans awaiting and with our arrival we upped it to 12. I enthusiastically informed the fans I am a coauthor for AguileraOnline and told them the back story as to why we created the site and what purpose it serves. We also talked about when we became fans and the play by play of events that happened after receiving the confirmation email! Here's how it went down for me:

Roughly two weeks prior, I was closing up the store I work at and was walking out to the parking lot with my coworker. SUDDENLY I get a phone call from Karlos... "I'M GOING TO STORYTELLERS!" I immediately shouted out with excitement and I was tempted with an affair with jealousy. I NEEDED TO GET MY ASS HOME. So I finished chatting with my coworker and hauled it homeward bound. As I'm walking in through the front door to my house, I made my way up the stairs, down the hall, through my bedroom door, and into my chair, grabbed my laptop, and clicked GMail and read the subject header: "CHRISTINA AGUILERA STORYTELLERS: PLEASE RESPOND BACK!" I then started VIOLENTLY screaming at the top of my lungs! I woke up my mom and she was asking me what was wrong. I don't know that I really spoke words in reply to her, I just remember making different sounding screams. I went into her bedroom and told her the news and suddenly my legs fell right from under me! I collapsed on the floor, and my mom was like "I'm going to slap you." LOL I whispered that I was going to Storytellers because I was completely hyperventilating. So someway, somehow I made it to the kitchen to get some air. I called up my sister and told her the news. I started BAWLING my eyes out of my head. Then I started hysterically laughing like a hiena! I then called everyone else I could think of as well.

So everyone got a good laugh at that after I shared my story. Finally, after making a lasting impression with Adam and Alex, we remained rather close knit for the remainder of the evening. While fans started to pour in, and Karlos and Nathan were joined up with us, the guy from Casting checked us off and we confirmed our guests. I was number 115 on the guest list. Karlos and I teamed up to introduce ourselves and tell people about the site, and take pictures of fans who wanted to be featured on the site as well. After awhile, the numbers were pretty seemingly overwhelming and we decided to cease photographing the attendees.

After about 50 or so fans had showed up, the Casting members called the names of those fans who had been handpicked to ask Christina questions. I was not among them, but no matter. The only thing was I had TEN well thought out questions and I was a little disappointed I wasn't granted the opportunity to present them. So I took it upon myself to present them to Gotham Casting who picked the questions. I walked up and said: "Now I understand you have preselected the questions to ask Christina, but I wanted for you to review these ones I have prepared." This girl replied back, "Well we didn't actually pick them, but HE did" and she pointed me to this stout gentleman who was evidently responsible for the selections.

"Will you review these for me?" I inquired.

"Wait, what am I supposed to do?" He asked.

"Just look them over. That's all."

After about 45 seconds, he responded that they were very good questions and I said thanks and rejoined the pod. Before you knew it, they were starting a security check of all the people attending and my group and I were first in line. Karlos had to leave! He had to return his camera to the Xtina Safari since the possession of cameras were restricted! So we were directed and then lined up in the studio's lot and we were the first group in line. Eagerly I awaited Karlos's return, but no sign of him still! So I returned back to the parking garage where they were checking people, and he was far back in line! My heart was racing! No WAY was this going to happen. We could NOT be broken up like that! I hustled back to my pod to fill everyone in that he was in fact, back in line. I waited a little bit, and went back for him. We were signaling each other to communicate. "Don't leave without me!" He mouthed. I wasn't going ANYWHERE without him. FINALLY he got through, and we hustled up to rejoin the group.

We were standing in the shadows of the surrounding buildings so despite it being a hot sunny day, it was quite cool. The excitement was building more and more and I couldn't contain it. YES I GOT EVEN MORE EXCITED! A couple fans of the blog were in attendance, and someone told me I should yell "AguileraOnline says hello!" Annnd I did. Lol. We ended up finding them and they were only a few people down from us which was really cool. Upon meeting them, a guy standing right by them came forward and said he follows our site religiously as well. Such a huge compliment and completely humbling to know we reach so many people we have not heard from!

So after a little while, Nathan informs us they are seating with no apparent order, so us being first didn't guarantee us close seats (front row). I wasn't too worried. It was declared as an intimate setting, so I figured there would be no "bad seats." We were enjoying each others company, and my excitement level was sky rocketing even more so. All of a sudden, a girl from Gotham Casting comes over and asks "How many of you are there in this little group?" So we were like, "Just us." So she ends up moving us to this other line, and I'm not exactly sure why we're getting moved, but as we reach this new line, we get advanced to go into the stage area, and she requests that we go "crazy" and keep up the energy. Um...I am definitely an outstanding member of the "Go Crazy For Xtina" squad. Check!

So our line moves to enter the stage and in the alleyway next to the stage, is a waist high metal fence with Bob the bodyguard on standby (6'5" Black Guy, Shades, Black Suit, and Nike Kicks). Behind him is a silver stretch limousine and on the left is Trailer 2 (Wardrobe) and Trailer 1. Christina's in Trailer 1. So while in line, someone yells, "You're the best bodyguard for my legend!" - Bob laughs. Then I said something and he went completely stone faced. LOL. Then I retorted that I must have come off as creepy and he laughed. Afterwards, Simone Harouche, Christina's personal stylist, exits Trailer 1. I yelled "SIMONE!!!" and she turns and we all wave to her and she laughed.

Shortly thereafter, we move into the stage which was turning out the Christina tunes. We take our seats (second row, stage right) and me and Audrey are belting out the songs, letting them flow through and through, we're having a blast. When "Makes Me Wanna Pray" came on, I was stomping my feet and waving my hands in the air! A little while after, I get up to go to the restroom, and I get back, round the front row to get to my seat, and suddenly, I STOPPED DEAD IN MY TRACKS. Jeri Slaughter was talking to Karlos and Aiden! I completely froze! Everyone saw, including Jeri, and laughed at me. I snapped out of it after like five seconds of freezing up, introduced myself, shook his hand and sat down and continued on conversing. (I'm so So SO glad I came back down to Earth to talk to him. I didn't want to come off as a freak =] )

I asked him if Christina herself has ever seen the blog, and he says "Actually, yeah, I showed her that video you guys posted, the HRShow Experience, she loves the site!" I was like "Oh cool!" Which overjoyed me. I then asked if he could coordinate anything between ourselves and her, a signing/picture, what have you. He said he'd check into it with management, but I didn't get my hopes up. I was just happy to be there. After awhile, the producer from VH1, Mike Flanagan, says a few words and then thereafter, the show begins.

*Spoiler Alert*

CHRISTINA SWARMED IN FROM WHO KNOWS WHERE. She began with "Bionic" which I couldn't even hear fully because it was as if someone unleashed a wild fire of chaos! Everyone was going INSANE. "Not Myself Tonight" was the second song she performed. Completely nuts, bananas! Then she spoke a few words and took it back for a bit and whipped our asses with the "Stripped Intro!" Yeah, you read that right, she spanked our asses with a live version of "Stripped Intro." My jaw dropped. Then! She went into "DIRRTY" and she came stage right and dropped it low, squatted during the part where she says "On the floor" opened her legs and closed them again x2 right before my very eyes. O_O

Afterwards, several stage hands lifted a grand piano onto the stage for set-up for "Beautiful." Linda Perry came out on stage, and tested a few keys. Then her and X began telling us the story behind how it came about that Christina ended up being chosen to record it. Very cool back story behind it all! Can't wait for you to hear it.

After "Beautiful was performed, the producers came over to me, Audrey, and Karlos, and asked us if we wanted to sit front row center because of our "incredible energy." MY LIFE HAD BEEN MADE. I said "Of course!!" So we proceeded over to where we were directed and were closer than ever. I was hovering over the girls who had been occupying the seats at the time and was later revealed to me by Nathan, that they had almost ZERO energy. Sooo, better us than them. Who's going to go see Christina and not have the time of your life?! Those girls needed smacked.

After being relocated, Christina revealed she was going to do a song she's "never performed before." I immediately knew which song it was before she revealed the track title. I immediately looked over to Aiden, who had just revealed the night before the ONE SONG he has always wanted to hear her perform live, was "I'm OK." He was completely shaken to the core upon hearing Christina herself say she was going to perform it. It was fate that I picked him as my guest for Storytellers. We've known each other for three years, and was down for when we started the site too. So we go way back.

"I'm OK" was an overwhelmingly emotional moment. The song personally hits home metaphorically for me as it does literally/metaphorically for other Xtina fans. You could tell she had a difficult time getting through it, as she physically shook as she uttered the blatantly honest lyrics.

Christina then switched up the game with her Back To Basics section of the show, and kicked things off with "Back To Basics Intro." Then with the swing of things she dives into "Ain't No Other Man" and after the first note has to take another take. "Sorry guys I sang the wrong note." I exclaimed, "It's OK TAKE AS MANY TAKES AS YOU NEED" haha. I could listen to this girl sing 24/7. OMG let me just say, hearing her LIVE is 50x better than the studio recording. INSANITY! So with the second take, the song is on fire, and I'm dancing my ass off! This is the song that made me such a HUGE, HARDCORE, fan of hers ever since she performed it at the MTV Movie Awards back in 2006.

So the song is electrifying my soul, and I don't even know what time in the song she did this, but she POINTED RIGHT AT ME, LOOKED RIGHT INTO MY EYES, and kept on singing. I cannot even begin to describe the look she had in her eyes, but at that moment in time, EVERYTHING WENT SILENT. I couldn't hear the band, the people around me, the music blaring through the speakers, nothing. It was as if I experienced a divine intervention. Legendtina touched my soul. We were feeding off of each others energies, and it was pure magic.

After that happened, I honestly can't recall what happened afterwards with as much clarity. But she took things way back with a medley of "Genie In A Bottle/What A Girl Wants," (OMG I got to see her do her classic genie move!) and then dove right into "You Lost Me," which completely was the climax of the program. It was incredible. She was on the floor singing it which made it even more raw and heartfelt. She closed the show with "Fighter" and for this song, I was ON POINT with the choreography, move for move. I was like her mirror image, minus the gender difference, etc., LOL. After the finale performance of "Fighter," she came right off stage, and strutted right past me and flung out her hands to touch her fans, and then she disappeared like that.

It was honestly the most magical time of my life, and I can't wait for you all to experience it once it airs tonight. It is truly remarkable.

I love you, Christina.

Getting some much needed relaxation after a week of Bionic promotional efforts, Christina Aguilera was spotted poolside in Miami Beach on Saturday (June 12).

The "Ain't No Other Man" singer looked casual cute in a blue Maxi dress, fedora hat and her penchant red lipstick as she mingled with friends and sipped on a few drinks.

The trip to Florida comes as Miss Aguilera spent the previous evening celebrating celebrity stylist Simone Harouche’s bachelorette party at Liv nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel.

In related news, Miss Aguilera recently made headlines with her promiscuous comments during an interview with Company magazine, as she said, "Sometimes I am attracted to women. I appreciate their femininity and beauty. My husband knows that I get into girls. I think it's fun to be open and play. The line is real to me. My husband and I check in with each other, but I definitely love women. I think they're more attractive to the naked eye."

CHRISTINA AGUILERA NOT ASHAMED OF DIVA LABEL

The 'Not Myself Tonight' singer - who has a two-year-old son, Max, with husband Jordan Bratman - insists she has only been branded demanding because she isn't afraid to express her opinions.

She said:
"As for a diva, I'm not the type of woman who can be told what to do. I have my own mind, my own ideas and my own visions.

"I wouldn't say I'm difficult. I'd say assertive and sometimes that means I get the '(expletive)-card'.

"But if having an opinion makes me a diva then I wear my badge with honor."
The 29-year-old pop beauty admits motherhood has made her much calmer, but insists she has never been an extrovert and is uncomfortable in social situations.

She added in an interview with The Sun newspaper:
"Motherhood has definitely made me more chilled out. But I also think people had me wrong.
"I'm actually quite shy. When I first meet people it takes me a moment to warm up. I'm not the social butterfly who can walk into a room or be at a party and start a random conversation. I'm sort of awkward with that sort of thing."

CHER SPEAKS ON BURLESQUE ROLE

Cher has a new movie in the works – “Burlesque” – opposite Christina Aguilera, but don’t let the title fool you. The 64-year-old told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on Thursday night that the film isn’t as saucy as it sounds – at least when it comes to her role.

“How sexy is Burlesque? Christina Aguilera was going off on it with me two nights ago,” Billy asked Cher on the red carpet on Thursday as she headed into the AFI Life Achievement Award celebration for director Mike Nichols.
“I don’t know how sexy it is,” the 64-year-old said. “I just think it’s really good and there are some, you know, there are some sexy moments,” she said. “You know, how sexy are [co-star] Stanley Tucci and I gonna be in some sort of a love scene?”
“Burlesque,” which opens on November 24, will find Cher playing a former club dancer, who now runs the club Christina Aguilera’s character – Ali Rose — becomes a part of. The movie has been filming for months and wasn’t easy on Cher’s feet.

Cher recently had to pull out of some of her shows at Caesars Palace after re-injuring her tootsies, and she said “Burlesque” didn’t help.
“You were [sidelined] for a night?” Billy asked.

“A couple of nights. Also, when I did ‘Burlesque,’ I was on 16 hour days in the highest heels I’ve ever worked on and it was hard,” she said.
As for her Vegas show cancellations, which occurred at the end of last month, Cher explained to Billy it had to do with her previous injury.
“My toes [have] been broken a whole bunch of times so I was having a really hard time with it,” Cher told Billy. “I still am [hurt], but I’m working on [it]. It’s getting better.”

CHRISTINA AGUILERA: WHY I'M SOMETHING ATTRACTED TO WOMEN

Christina Aguilera's risqué outfits, skin-tight costumes and provocative photo shoots aren't just for show. The singer says her sexy image is her way of getting out what she believes is an important message.

"I feel sexuality to be very empowering," the singer, 29, tells U.K. magazine Company in its July issue. "I think men love to believe that they own our sexuality, so if a woman represents herself in a sexual way, people think, 'Oh it must be for a man.'"

"But men don't have the right to own our sexuality," she says. "If I want to be sexual, it's for my own appreciation and enjoyment! That's why I like to talk about the fact that sometimes I am attracted to women. I appreciate their femininity and beauty."

Before calling her a feminist, be warned, Aguilera says she doesn't like to get into labels. Instead, she's simply fighting "for women's rights in the sense that we shouldn't be ashamed of ourselves or our bodies."

But husband Jordan Bratman has nothing to worry about. His wife of almost five years knew he was The One, because when they met, "Everything was a little blurry and he was the one concrete person that I could trust," she tells the magazine. "He was centered, grounded and always helped me see the positive in the negative. He would lift me out of my black hole of sometimes feeling sucked in by the negativity of people around me. My husband is the calm in the storm."

Though she acknowledges "you have to work at all relationships," she says she couldn't have found a better partner than Bratman. "He's my team mate in everything we do," she says. "He definitely makes life easier."

Christina Aguilera Rocks the "Early Show" Stage

Pop Singer Performs "Genie in a Bottle," "What a Girl Wants," Songs from New Album "Bionic"

(CBS) Christina Aguilera performed live Friday morning on "The Early Show" as part of our "Early Summer Concert Series" lineup.

Aguilera kicked off her performances this morning with her hit single "Not Myself Tonight" off of her new album "Bionic," which is currently in stores.

Since her debut album in 1999, Aguilera has sold over 30 million albums with four billboard topping hits.

The five-time Grammy Award winning artist is also the only artist under the age of 30 to be featured on "Rolling Stone’s" Top 100 Singers of All Time.

Fans could not get enough as she took a walk down memory lane with a medley of "Genie in a Bottle" combined with "What A Girl Wants."

Aguilera has changed her style often over the years, and concerning her new album "Bionic" the singer said she was "inspired by electronic music. It’s really fun. ... I got in touch with my initial pop roots and wanted to make a fun record with an electronic and sophisticated twist."

Showing off her different artistic dimensions, Aguilera mentioned her debut on the silver screen this November in a film called "Burlesque." She changed the pace and continued her performance with a sultry-soulful piece "You Lost Me," also from her new album.

Aguilera took a break to tell co-anchor Julie Chen about her work as a United Nations Ambassador and her work with the World Food Program(WFP).

The singer closed out the show with a full out performance of an old hit that shows that she indeed is a "Fighter."
