She was going through so much at the time when she recorded STRIPPED, but in all honestly I'm glad that she was because if she had been in such a dark place we would have never gotten the masterpiece that is STRIPPED! CHRISTINA AGUILERA IS AN "OVERACHIEVER AND AN EXTREME PERFECTIONIST", WHO DOESN'T FEEL SHE IS SUCCESSFUL ENOUGH YET.“There are still so many things that I’m yet to accomplish, I think it’s something that I do tell myself, just to stay hungry,” she told the British edition of InStyle magazine. “I am an overachiever and an extreme perfectionist. I would like to do more film and I feel that I still have yet to acquire the type of success that I desire.The 29-year-old explained she always knew she wanted to be a world famous singer. She was unhappy with her debut pop-inspired album, revealing it didn’t feel like the sort of music she should be making. Since then she’s worked hard to find her own voice, and will never let herself release something she doesn’t like again.
“I’m sure there will definitely be a place that I will be at peace with knowing I’ve accomplished a lot.”
“I learnt that lesson really early on, because I had a lot of commercial success with my very first album and I was miserable doing it, because it didn’t come from me,” she explained. “It was part of the whole pop explosion that seemed very puppeteered. I’m not a gimmick. I do like to stay with what’s closest to my heart, so all of that is hoopla and fluff and I just don’t like to entertain it.”Christina’s latest album Bionic did not do as well as expected, and she recently filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman. The pair have not discussed the reasons for the split, preferring to keep them private. The singer also had a tough childhood – she has previously said her father was abusive – and says setbacks only make her stronger.

Halloween is nearly two weeks away and you've prob been racking your brain trying to figure out the perfect costume. We get it -- store bought costumes are all horrifically (pun intended) cheesy. Plus, you know there'll be about 20 Snooki's and 50 Gaga's at every party. What to do?
First, head over to your closet and look for short dresses with bold accents. If you have something with a lot of sequins or glitter, wear it! Hair and makeup will complete the look, so be ready to spend a little extra time here. A good person to model your burlesque look after is, of course, Miss Christina Aguilera. For a really dramatic look, buy a cropped blonde wig or a long jet black one. (They are super cheap and they'll definitely have it around for Halloween!)

The day after news of her separation from husband Jordan Bratman broke last week, Christina Aguilera, who will appear on the December cover of REDBOOK, spoke exclusively to the magazine about how she was coping with the split.
“It’s not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness,” she said. “It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”
When asked about the details, rumors (of infidelity), and whether she and Jordan, whom she married in November 2005, had tried couples therapy to resolve their issues, Christina answered,
Her focus during this rough, emotional time, she said, was her son, who turns three in January.“Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day.”
“Thankfully, I have Max to keep me on a sane path. His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe.”
