JOHNNY WEIR TALKS ABOUT MEETING CHRISTINA AGUILERA
In a recent interview with Windy City Times Johnny Weir was asked several questions, and one of those questions asked was concerning Christina. Here is what he was asked and what he had to say:
WCT: You talk about Christina Aguilera in the book and what a fan you are. Have you met her?

WCT: You talk about Christina Aguilera in the book and what a fan you are. Have you met her?
Johnny Weir: I got to meet Christina when I went to the MTV Movie Awards this past spring. I started walking the red carpet and there was a big commotion. I sent my manager over to grab her and tell her that I wanted to meet her. That is how things work in Hollywood circles, which I am still not accustomed to.For the entire interview CLICK HERE.
She came over and she had seen me skate. I have always respected her for never caving in to what the public wanted to see from her. She was always so powerful and used her talent as opposed to other things to become famous. She relied on her voice to sell albums. I always respected that and tried to bring that philosophy to my world. I try to take no prisoners and be who I am. You always have a fear when you meet famous people that they will be a douchebag or your image will crumble. All of my heroes—Lady Gaga, Elton John and Christina Aguilera—have been so beyond amazing.

[RUMOR] CHRISTINA IN TALKS TO BE A JUDGE FOR NEW SHOW... 'THE VOICE'
Rumor Alert - Christina In Talks To Be A Judge On NEW US Talent Show "The Voice."
After the birth (and death) of rumours stating that Christina would become part of the judging panel on the new US version of The X Factor talent show which is big in the UK, a new rumour has come along stating that Christina may be being... considered to become a part of the judging panel for new US talent show 'The Voice'. Entertainment Weekly posted this piece of information on their official site. NBC has considered music artists such as Christina Aguilera, Cee- Lo Green and Adam Levine from band Maroon 5. Green and Levine are close to almost being accepted for the roles, but they are looking for a 3rd person to join them. No contracts have been signed yet. Below is what was posted on Entertainment Weekly's official site giving a bit more information:
'Cee-Lo Green and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine are in serious discussions to join Mark Burnett’s singing competitionThe Voice for NBC, EW has learned exclusively. Producers also considered Lenny Kravitz, Roger Daltrey, Mary J. Blige, John Legend and Enrique Iglesias about occupying a judging seat on the show. Plus, there’s a major-name female star who’s in talks to join as well, but is not yet close to a deal (according to two unconfirmed sources, it’s Christina Aguilera, which would obviously be an enormous name for any talent show).
Deals are not signed and things could still change. As Fox discovered last year when trying to fill spots on Idol, securing high-profile judges can be difficult as pop stars tend to come with prior commitments. Signing with a network for a TV show often means canceling other obligations, sometimes at a price.
Clearly NBC is going after pop stars instead of record label suits for their judges spots, and is hoping to land current and relevant artists. If hired, Cee Lo and Levine, along with the third judge, should lend some name recognition and industry experience to the show, as well as generate press interest.
The Voice seeks to gain market share when it launches this spring in the toughest of reality genres just as Idol is ramping up for its Top 12. It’s a high stakes plan, especially since Idolhas already bested one competitor this season, CBS’ performance series Live to Dancestarring former Idol judge Paula Abdul. But NBC has proven it can draw a good ratings with a singing competition with its winter a cappella competition The Sing Off.
The Voice is based on a Dutch hit where contestants audition while judges face the other direction, unable to see the contestants. The Susan Boyle-friendly format has judges making their verdicts based on the singer’s vocal talent alone rather than being influenced by the contestant’s physical appearance. Once they hit a button deciding whether to accept the performance, their chairs swivel around. Unlike Idol, contestants will not be sequestered during the competition, but will be free to interact with fans and perform on their own (such as doing club dates) while trying to build their fan base.
Last week NBC announced The Voice will take the unique step of opening its audition process to any singer with a web cam. Carson Daly will host.'
What do you guys think, should Christina accept if shes offered?

ARETHA FRANKLIN TRIBUTE DECLARED 'BEST GRAMMY PERFORMANCE' BY READERS
MTV News voters give props to Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and more for their set.
In the lead-up to the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, MTV News readers cast their votes for the performance they were most excited to see. The Aretha Franklin tribute, which featured Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Martina McBride and Yolanda Adams, ended up taking home the bulk of the vote.
Once Sunday's show was over, we asked people to vote for their favorite performance of the night. Was it the triumphant return of Dr. Dre? The stage-owning performance by Justin Bieber? Or perhaps it was Arcade Fire's eye-popping run to close out the show?
But in the end, the tribute to Franklin stood supreme once again. The five-diva performance — which ran through some of Franklin's biggest hits over the course of her five-decade career — picked up 39 percent of the total vote to take first place. "No doubt its xtina and the gang!" wrote commenter Sef. "No eggs or crazy gimmicks but still they entertained the crowd. They all sound amazing!"
Of course, that comment was in reference to Lady Gaga's egg-assisted run through "Born This Way" during the show's first hour. That performance racked up 27 percent of the vote to finish in second place. The three-way combination of Justin Bieber, Usher and Jaden Smith was right behind Gaga with 22 percent. "Justin Bieber, Usher and Jaden Smith did an amazing job," commenter BelieberForever96 wrote. "It was awesome. They should win."
Only Eminem, Dr. Dre and Rihanna's performances of "Love the Way You Lie" and "I Need a Doctor" managed to put much of a dent in the voting beyond that point, as they picked up 6 percent despite some very vocal support in the comments section and on Facebook. Album of the Year winner Arcade Fire's pair of songs earned only 1.5 percent, and Muse's take on "Uprising" cobbled together 1 percent. And the least-voted-for performance award goes to Miranda Lambert, whose presentation of "The House That Built Me" did not ignite the voters' enthusiasm.

QUEEN ARETHA FRANKLIN PRAISES CHRISTINA'S TRIBUTE
I LOVED it! The ladies all sounded so wonderful and they looked fabulous! All of them were dressed to the nines! [VIDEO] CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S 53RD GRAMMY'S PERFORMANCE
"Music's biggest night" opened with a larger-than-life production number: five throaty women singing a half dozen Aretha Franklin hits.
The Queen of Soul was hospitalized late last year for an undisclosed ailment -- she's denied it's cancer, but she hasn't been more specific -- and the Grammys paid tribute to the 18-time winner by booking Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Florence Welch (from Florence and the Machine) to belt out a few of the legend's signature songs.
The brassy production number quickly devolved into a contest of "I can sing louder and sassier than you can!" with Aguilera winning handily. She finished "Natural Woman" with her trademark inflation of syllables ("You're the key to my peace of mi-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind!"), then tore into "Ain't No Way" with such power and precision everyone should forget her National Anthem goof at the Super Bowl. Hudson looked bored but sounded strong on "Respect," ending with a hand on a hip and an Everest-level run up the scale.
After the performance, Franklin herself appeared in a video, looking shockingly thin but regal in a feathery white gown. (Last month, she told "Access Hollywood" that after the surgery she was "down to a rockin' [size] 16!") She thanked supporters for card and flowers "and most importantly your prayers during my time of hospitalization," promising to attend the Grammys in person next year. [Chicago Sun-Times]
Christina Aguilera showed some respect for Aretha Franklin at Sunday's Grammy Awards.
One week after the pop star's big Super Bowl fumble – she flubbed the words during her National Anthem performance – Aguilera opened an all-female tribute to the Queen of Soul at L.A.'s Staples Center alongside Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine), Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride.
Standing in a row, the ladies swapped harmonies, alternating lead vocals during the 10-minute run-through of many of Franklin's hits.
After leading off with "You Make Me Feel (Like a Natural Woman)" as a collective, Aguilera belted out "Ain't No Way," accenting the tune with plenty of melisma and her trademark vocal trilling. She stood confidently as she sang and ended the performance on a (sustained) high note – literally.
As she finished her song, however, Aguilera almost fell, crouching down so low she needed to be helped to her feet by Welch. "That was a real sexy ending," Aguilera later said, after returning to the stage to present the award for best performance by a pop duo or group.
Welch, a best new artist nominee, gave a fierce reading of "Think," while McBride performed a country-fied "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)." Ever the vocal powerhouse, a slimmed-down Hudson tackled Franklin's iconic "Respect." Adams delivered a simmering version of "Spirit in the Dark."
While she wasn't able to attend the ceremony in person, Franklin, who was home in Detroit recovering from her recent undisclosed health problems, appeared in a taped message after the performance to thank fans for their support and prayers. Sporting a white gown, Franklin, 68, looked noticeably thinner in her face as she addressed the camera.
"I especially want to thank all of you who took the time to send me get-well cards and flowers," she said. "I wish that I could have been with you all tonight [but] since I couldn't, next year, okay?" [People]
CHRISTINA MAY OPEN UP TO DAVID LETTERMAN AFTER THE GRAMMY'S
According to the entertainment rumor mill this weekend, Late Show host David Letterman may secure the first interview with Christina Aguilera after last weekend's much-publicized Super Bowl debacle, where Aguilera infamously botched the national anthem before a worldwide audience of 100 million.
Tonight, Aguilera will return to national television for the 2011 Grammy Awards, where she will take part in the Aretha Franklin tribute along with Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride.
David Letterman, who reportedly enjoys a closer relationship with Aguilera than Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and others in the late night line up, has allegedly reached out to Aguilera and may land the booking this week, according to sources who shared the tidbit with mainstream media this weekend.
Letterman's show of support for Christina Aguilera with a "friendly interview" would represent one of the few gracious opportunities Aguilera has received during the past week. On Monday, fellow Super Bowl performer Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas came to Christina Aguilera's defense, following what many fans are describing as the most embarrassing moment of Aguilera's career. Hours after her controversial performance, Aguilera apologized to the world saying “I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”
Among the few actually expressing sympathy for Christina Aguilera is Fergie, who publicly commented Monday about Aguilera's flub.
"You know what? It's such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you," Fergie said during an interview on Dan Patrick's radio show. "I completely understand. She's one of the best singers of our time. Nobody can take that away from you. ... But you get nervous at these things. We're human."
Fergie's comments differ dramatically from those of comedian Joan Rivers. “How stupid can you get?” Rivers told PopEater on Monday. “Christina must have been thinking about food, that’s why she forgot the words.”
Will Christina Aguilera ever live down the embarrassment of mangling the national anthem on Super Bowl Sunday? And would an appearance on David Letterman really make the situation better?
Please weigh in with a comment or thought below.

SNL: WEEKEND UPDATE PRODS XTINA PLAYFULLY
Super Bowl was watched by 111 million people, or as people tried to reassure Christina Aguilera, "hardly anyone."LOL! SNL is either hit or miss with me... but I cracked up after seeing that. I sent it to Karlos and we both had a good laugh. I hope Christina is not beating herself up over it... we all love her and the whole experience just goes to show she's human like every single one of us.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA AND JENNIFER HUDSON WIN MTV POLL BY A LARGE MARGIN
If you have been following our tweets and posts on the site about the MTV poll asking those of you out there surfing the interwebs to vote who you are most excited to see perform at the 53rd annual Grammy's Live Telecast, then you know Christina had some stiff competition. INFORMATION ABOUT THE GRAMMY'S OPENING PERFORMANCES
So guys I just came across this on another site and thought that it was fucking amazing. Christina and these girls are going to do so amazing tomorrow night. I honestly can't wait to hear Christina OWN 'Ain't No Way'.
The Staples Center rafters rattled as the group belted out "Natural Woman," before each diva took on their own Franklin tune. Aguilera went first with "Ain't No Way," McBride was up next with "Until You Come Back to Me," Welch followed with "Think," Jennifer Hudson tackled the iconic "Respect" and Adams rounded things out with "Spirit in the Dark." The ladies all closed with the empowering "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves.
LA TIMES REPORT: "AGUILERA NAILED EVERY WORD AND MELISMATIC NOTE"
Does Christina Aguilera know the words to “Respect”? OK, that’s a bit harsh but Aguilera is on the spot after flubbing a line in “The Star Spangled Banner” last week at the Super Bowl. On Sunday night she is part of a diva brigade (Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride and Florence Welch) that will open the show with a medley tribute to Aretha Franklin. At Thursday night rehearsals, Aguilera nailed every word and melismatic note on her very first run-through (we’re not saying which song she sang, but it’s not “Respect,” just for the record) and without teleprompter assist.
