CEE LO GREEN SNUBBED 'X FACTOR (U.S.)' BECAUSE 'THE VOICE' IS "COOLER AND EDGIER"

Cee Lo Green has reportedly turned down a high profile role on Simon Cowell’s new X Factor series, so that he can take a job on new American singing competition The Voice.

The ‘Forget You’ hitmaker was thought to have met with Cowell last month and discussed the possibility of joining his Fox reality TV show this September, however insiders say he has now joined NBC’s The Voice, because it has more credibility.

“The Voice is a new show which will be cooler and edgier than the X Factor. Cee Lo was more excited by it.” The Voice will be presented by Carson Daly and joining Green as a coach will be Maroon 5′s Adam Levine.

Thought to still be in the running for Cowell’s X factor are Cheryl Cole, Nicole Scherzinger, Zac Efron and Paula Abdul. An official announcement is expected within the month.
