[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S SPARKLY HEADBAND STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT

While The Voice focuses on the contestants' talents, and not their appearance (hence, the blind auditions), that’s definitely not the case for the judges, particularly Christina Aguilera.

Between her daring plunging necklines, sparkly gold eyeshadow and platinum blonde mane, the 31-year-old singer constantly steals the spotlight from co-stars Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and even Cee-Lo Green.

And recently, everyone's been buzzing about the black disc-shaped crystal-studded headpiece she debuted during the first battle round episode.

Host Carson Daly gave the quirky accessory -- which is actually a headband designed by Sonia Rykiel -- a shout-out in his blog:
"Another thing I want to mention that America will be thrilled about in the battle rounds is… new wardrobe for all the coaches! What Purrfect the Cat was for conversation during the blind auditions, Christina Aguilera’s compact-disc hat will be for the battle rounds."

[NEWS] 'THE VOICE': THE #1 TV SHOW IN FEBRUARY

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – March 1, 2012 – Paced by the combination of NBC Sports’ February 5 coverage of the Super Bowl and primetime’s #1 series for the month, “The Voice,” NBC has won the February 2012 Nielsen Sweep in the key demographic of adults 18-49 and ranks #1 or tied for #1 in all other key demographics.

The hit Monday singing competition “The Voice” finished as the #1 series for the February sweep in adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men (tie) and women 18-49; adults and women 25-54; kids 2-11 and teens 12-17, led by results for its February 5 season premiere following the Super Bowl. In adults 18-49, “The Voice” averaged a 7.5rating for the month and in total viewers, “The Voice” delivered 19.4 million persons.

With all 28 nights of the February 2-29 period now measured, “most current” averages in adults 18-49 for the month are: NBC (a 3.7 rating), CBS (3.0), Fox (3.0), ABC (2.5) and CW (0.7). In total viewers, “most current” sweep averages are CBS (12.2 million), NBC (10.4 million), Fox (8.5 million), ABC (7.8 million) and CW (1.6 million).

With this year’s boosts from the Super Bowl and “The Voice,” NBC is up versus the year-ago February sweep by 131 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.7 from a 1.6) and up 86 percent in total viewers (10.4 million vs. 5.6 million). According to “most current” results for the sweep, NBC is #1 or tied for #1 in all key demographics – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

The combination of “The Voice” and the critically acclaimed new drama “Smash” (3.1 rating in 18-49, 8.9 viewers overall) helped NBC triple its Monday 18-49 average rating from the year-ago February 2011 sweep (with a 5.2 vs. a 1.7).

February sweep figures are “most current” averages of “live plus seven day” data except for the two most recent weeks, which are “live plus same day.”

[NEWS] CARSON DALY DESTROYS THE DIRTY RUMORS ABOUT XTINA'S ACTIONS ON 'THE VOICE'

Yesterday, a dirty little rumor sprung up that producers for The Voice were planning to axe Christina Aguilera from the coaching line up after the conclusion of its second season.

Well we at AMP Radio wanted answers, so who better to ask than the host of the show (AND our morning show guru) Carson Daly?

What’s fact and what’s false? Hear the truth straight from the horse’s mouth!

Contrary to reports, producers couldn’t be more pleased with Christina Aguilera and her work on The Voice.

Among the false complaints, sources say the pop star doesn’t spend quality time with her own contestants, she doesn’t “participate,” she brings her boyfriend with her on set all the time, and they even go as far to say that she’s drinking on the job!
“I would tell you the 100% truth. If she was a diva, if she was a pain in the ass, I've got nothing vested. I'd tell you. I'd tell you right now."
What does Carson have to say about that? False, false, false and FALSE!

He set the record straight this morning on AMP Radio. As for her relationship with her contestants, he says she’s completely hands-on:
"I think she spent more time with her contestants, her team, the girls, than anybody else. [It] may not have been on the set, but she was on the phone with them, working out what songs they were going to do. Adam might have spent more time, but [she's] top two. She spent more time than Cee Lo or Blake, for sure."
Okay, item number 2: Christina doesn’t “participate?” Also not true.
"Some of the rehearsals she’s not at. Like some of them that I’m at, she’s really not needed. We’re doing what we call look-sees and blocking and camera, so they’ll have a stand in, but it’s quite common. She’s there for all the dress [rehearsals] and all the stuff that she has to be there for."
Carson then dispelled rumors about Christina’s boyfriend Matt hanging around at The Voice.
"I can count on one hand how many times Matt was on the set. I bring my girlfriend way more than I’ve seen her boyfriend."
Finally, he hilariously put to rest the most troubling subject: the matter of Christina drinking on set:
"We give her a hard time for not drinking on the job! Me and Adam and Cee Lo and Blake, we always are hanging out and drinking beers or whatever and we’re always trying to get her to come and join us, but she’s busy picking out outfits! So there’s no truth to it all, none whatsoever."
Well there you have it! Get the full 411 by listening to the audio clip below!

[NEWS] TOP-TEN THINGS TO EXPECT FROM TONIGHT'S EPISODE OF 'THE VOICE'

1) Taking a cue from Cee Lo but with a slightly different approach, Blake name-drops Xenia while trying to win over an artist. Yes,that Xenia.

2) One artist sounds so much like his musical idol that the coaches actually think a prank is being played on them.

3) Carson surprises a street performer with an invitation to the blind auditions.

4) Cee Lo gets feisty. Which, as we all know, is as rare as a shooting star.

5) A famous pastor’s son takes the stage to start his own path, not necessarily in his father’s footsteps.

6) Christina does her signature “Genie In A Bottle” move circa ‘99 to lure an artist away from Cee Lo.

7) The epic coach bromance continues: we learn the artists aren’t the only ones who get giddy and nervous around Adam Levine.

8) A country hopeful tries to wow the coaches with the help of her…piano?

9) A Broadway veteran coming off Rent, We Will Rock You and American Idiot strives for pop/rock stardom. First stop? The Voice stage.

10) “We are looking at a star” the reaction to an artist who seems to have zero nerves and all the stage presence of a pro.
So tune in! Tell me what you think!

[NEWS] SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT - XTINA IS (NOT) A NIGHTMARE ON 'THE VOICE'

Christina Aguilera is a “nightmare to work with” on “The Voice,” claims In Touch.

The tabloid says the judge “hasn’t eased up on the partying one iota” since her arrest for public intoxication a year ago, supposedly making things difficult for the show as the staff scrambles to make Aguilera TV-ready.

A so-called In Touch “insider” alleges, “She’s even shown up on set looking bloated and hungover.”

The mag goes so far as to say, “It’s gotten so bad that frustrated producers are considering giving Christina a curfew on the nights before tapings.”

Aguilera also “seems distracted while filming, to the point where producers have to feed her lines,” insists In Touch.

“She’s a disaster. They have to work hard to keep her on track,” claims the tab’s “insider.”

Uh-huh.

The only “disaster” here is the “reporting” from In Touch, which last year wrongly claimed that there were all sorts of problems with Aguilera on “The Voice,” including an alleged feud with Adam Levine.

It was not true then, either, and the show’s host, Carson Daly, slammed the rumors himself.

(Aguilera and Levine, of course, wound up collaborating on a massive hit song together.)

The mag’s latest report about Aguilera being a mess on set is “false,” a source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop, pointing out that the show hasn’t been filmed since October and November 2011.

Oops.

[NEWS] 'THE VOICE' SNEAK PEEK: 'A BLIND AUDITION THAT'LL MAKE YOU CRY!'

If reality competitions know how to do one thing, it's tug on those heartstrings.

In this exclusive first look at a contestant's blind audition on The Voice, a single father puts his future in one song, all in hope that one judge turns that giant chair around…

Jesse Campbell's story is one straight out of the movies: his wife left him, he ended up homeless and he had to sleep in his car with his little girl on his chest. He found a new life through singing, at weddings and churches, and now in his 40s, he's counting on his voice to bring him and his daughter the future they deserve.

But of course, it's up to judges Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton if he makes it to the next round. Do they press the button and swing around? Watch the video below to find out, and then tune in to E! News tonight at 7 p.m. for the whole story (NBC and E! are both part of the NBCUniversal family).

[VIDEO] CARSON DALY GIVES A BACKSTAGE TOUR BY GOING BEHIND THE SCENES OF 'THE VOICE'

With about two weeks until the second season of NBC’s The Voice premieres after the Super Bowl on Feb. 5, host Carson Daly gives viewers a first look at the talent and a behind the scenes tour of the singing competition’s studio.

“I’m standing in front of this enormous stage,” Daly says. “Inside is where we’re doing the blind auditions for Season 2 and I’m going to give you an exclusive tour of my ‘hood on The Voice.”

We also get a first look at the competitors. And while American Idol paraded its sad auditions along with its good, the video shows one of the reasons why this show has become a breath of fresh air for viewers: Everyone is good. In fact, the performer featured in the video has the enviable problem of his voice being too big. Poor thing.

When the series premieres, it goes straight into the blind audition rounds – the very reason the show calls itself The Voice. The coaches sit with their backs to the auditioning contestants and swing around to who knows what marketing challenge belongs to what they’ve heard.

[VIDEO] EXTRATV: CHRISTINA AGUILERA SHOULD 'WHIP' CO-COACHES INTO SHAPE

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player
"The Voice" judges are back together for season 2, and Christina Aguilera tells "Extra's" Terri Seymour, "It's like me and three rowdy boys that are still stuck in high school."

The boys she is referring to are Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, country star Blake Shelton and "Forget You" artist Cee Lo Green, who dropped some hints as to what fans can expect this season. "It's gonna get filthy at some point."

Terri commented that as the only female judge, Christina should "whip them [Green, Shelton and Levine] into shape," the singer replied, "Oh yeah, yeah... they need some good whipping."

In addition to his role on "The Voice," Levine has two other series in the works; one is a karaoke comedy project and the other is a rock 'n roll drama called "Awesome Splendor," set to air on NBC.

Adam, 32, is working as executive producer on the two shows, and joked, "I think it's the Jewish person inside me that's finally come out. I cannot escape my fate as an executive producer!"

"The Voice" will premiere on Feb. 5 on NBC.

The 30-year-old entertainer was joined by her fellow coaches Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, and host Carson Daly.

At the press junket, the reality show’s creator Mark Burnett confirmed that each coach will mentor twelve contestants instead of last year’s eight - meaning more rounds of blind auditions, according to THR.

Christina also told reporters that she and her fellow coaches will open with a “kicka**” musical number!

The Voice returns on February 5 after the Super Bowl.

FYI: Christina is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana skirt, L’Agence blouse, a Barbara Bui belt, Loree Rodkin jewels, a custom knuckle duster by Stephen Webster, and Alexandre Birman boots.
