Christina Aguilera Talks Search for New Electro Sound on E! Special

By now Christina Aguilera fans are well aware of the direction the vocal superpower is heading for her next album — as Rolling Stone recently reported, the singer has recruited a list of collaborators with electro-pop cred that includes M.I.A., Santigold, Sia, Goldfrapp, Le Tigre and Ladytron.

Aguilera sheds a little light on when she caught the electro bug in her new Christina Aguilera: An E! Entertainment Special, which airs Wednesday, September 2nd at 9 p.m. ET. and features footage of the singer working in her home studio. Revealing that after her son Max was born she gravitated to the “futuristic sound” of acts like Zero 7, as Sia puts it, “She said I’m kind of interested in stepping into your world.” Watch a quick clip from the show above.

[NEWS] iPOD PLAYLIST: TOP-TEN FEMALE POWER SONGS

1. “I Will Survive,” by Aretha Franklin. If anyone can sing about surviving a breakup, Aretha Franklin can.

2. “Womanizer,” by Britney Spears. Boy — you are a womanizer and B. Spears knows it (and so do the rest of us).

3. “Dirrty,” by Christina Aguilera. Yeah, Christina. Way to put out a seriously raunchy tune that makes some chicks feel like doing an empowered strip dance.

4. “So What,” by P!nk. Screaming about being a rock star and not needing a man are two things that make girls feel more powerful than the Hulk.

5. “Single Ladies,” by Beyoncé. It’s nice to be reassured by a former Destiny’s Child diva, even by a married Beyoncé, that being a single lady is fabulous.

6. “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” by Whitney Houston. Bobby Brown’s ex can seriously belt a tune. Singing along is one of the most powerful feelings ever.

7. “Like a Virgin,” by Madonna. This needs no explanation.

8. “Before He Cheats,” by Carrie Underwood. It may be country, but this tune is a serious take-revenge song that just basically rocks hard.

9. “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” by Céline Dion. Her voice is awe-inspiring, and this tune makes a killer karaoke feel-good tune, despite the depressing lyrics.

10. “Since You’ve Been Gone,” by Kelly Clarkson. The “American Idol” diva, besides being a badass, has a major set of fierce pipes.

Christina Aguilera Thanks her Husband!

In a TV interview, well-known singer Christina Aguilera paid tribute to her husband Jordan Bratman. During the emotional interview, Christina Aguilera praised the support given to her by Bratman and Aguilera said that her husband helped her overcome her abusive past.

Jordan Bratman is Aguilera’s music marketing executive. Aguilera got married to Bratman nearly four years back and they have a baby boy, Max who is 19 months old. Aguilera said that the loving influence given to her by Bratman helped her a lot in battling her fears and she conquer her sorrows.

In that interview, Aguilera told E! Online,

I grew up not having any real male perspective or role model and Jordan just continuously makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with him everyday. He just exudes such love and is such a great father to Max that it just makes me the happiest woman alive. I’m just lucky to have him in my life… every couple has times when they disagree, but I never allow any arguments to escalate in front of Max.

Aguilera began her music career with her self titled debut album Christina Aguilera in 1999, and got fame nationwide. With the passage of time her popularity and fame kept raising and she became a well known musician worldwide. With her outstanding work, she got nominated eighteen times for various awards and she won four Grammy Awards and one Latin Grammy Award. More than 42 million records of Christina Aguilera has been sold worldwide that it makes her one of the most successful recording artists of the decade.

Christina & Jordan At LAX

Here are some New Candids of Christina and Jordan in LAX on August 25, 2009.

She’s no stranger to a travel-intensive lifestyle and last night (August 24) Christina Aguilera was spotted catching a flight at LAX International Airport.

Joined by her husband Jordan Bratman, the “Genie in a Bottle” songstress looked to have left her baby son Max Liron home with a babysitter.

And as she went through the security checkpoint, Christina lifted up her hair to reveal the “Xtina” tattoo on the back of her neck.

Speaking of her forthcoming album, Ms. Aguilera told press, “I kind of had an idea for a futuristic feel for many years now, but I also had that idea that I wanted to do a soul, blues and jazz record also. But I knew I had to do that one first ... It’s always been in the back of my mind to do a more futuristic sound. But I felt like it couldn’t have been a better time or place for me personally also as a new mom.”

[RUMOR] CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO COME BACK IN AN ENORMOUS WAY

Update: NO LIE guys... I just chatted with Focus online - the former Aftermath Records producer and Dre Dre protege who worked on Xtina's new album...

AS EXPECTED, he couldn't reveal TOO much about the project or release time etc...

BUT he did say this...

ABOUT HER NEW SOUND/ALBUM:

He mentioned that it's top secret bc she wants it to be a surprise - he said she's coming back HUGE, like in a MAJOR way...!!!!

ABOUT XTINA PERSONALLY/PROFESSIONALLY:

He said she's a great person and a very hard worker. He said she is a perfectionist and very hands-on - she plays a part in EVERY SINGLE aspect of her album and projects

I asked if she really writes, and if she helps with vocal arrangements and he said "Yes she writes and yes"!!!

I KNOW, not a lot of NEW info, but just thought you guys would like to know what he said...

IN CASE y'all are wondering HOW i talked to him... well i was in a certain artist's live USTREAM chat and he was in there typing and i noticed his username and then he hit me up on a private chat box and we talked for a while... and YES i have proof it was the real FOCUS, not some imposter... bc the artist in the USTREAM live vid chat's manager was talking to hiim and me too and confirming basically that it was him

IN FACT -- I'm even going to interview him sometime soon for my blog (http://keepwaiting.net) and i'll ask him again bout xtina etc...

He's a really cool guy and very down to earth and has NO ego etc... he's NOT the regular industry type of guy, if you know what I mean... he's very humble and hungry and driven... my new bff, lol

Christina Aguilera: The Woman That Runs The Show

Undoubtedly, 2009 will be the year for music - successful, or not. Christina, Whitney, Mariah, Madonna, are all releasing new material. Michael Jackson is projected to be the best selling artist of 2009 since his tragic death. Musicians are feuding more than ever with returns to prominence: Mariah and Eminem, T.B.A. Whitney Houston's new single at an attempt for a comeback is horribly weak and boring. Mariah Carey: her career is faltering as she keeps pushing back her new album, not to mention, her shows aren't selling (i.e. Tickets are still available for her OPENING NIGHT at the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort, where she is supposed to have a residency in September), she's canceling appearances, as well as being noticeably absent from this year's MTV VMA's. Speaking of the 2009 VMA's, JayZ and Lady Gaga have been booked to perform, joining an already impressive list that includes Taylor Swift, P!nk, Greenday, and Muse. Russell Brand will be hosting again, so there will definitely be racy comments once more. Christina is going to turn it out this time around, with new material, new attitude, new EVERYTHING, so with that said, that will be an interesting ingredient as well. Christina is going to be a steamroller to the competition. Look out bitches!

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO DEBUT AS A GUEST JUDGE ON PROJECT RUNWAY

The sixth season of Project Runway – finally out of the courts and moving to Los Angeles when it premieres on Lifetime August 20 – will lose no time amping up the Hollywood glam factor. For one of the show’s biggest challenges, the designers will have to work their magic on powerhouse pop diva Christina Aguilera and designer Bob Mackie, the so-called Sultan of Sequins, and make a costume for Aguilera to wear in concert.

“The contestants were beside themselves when they heard who they were designing for,” Runway executive producer Jane Cha tells TVGuideMagazine.com. "They couldn’t believe it was Christina. And they really had to think about it, because costuming is not their forte."

But it is the forte of the legendary Mackie, who is best known for outfitting Cher and Tina Turner. "We tap into his archives, so it was very interesting," says Cha. "For the designers, it will be lots of glitz and glam for the stage, and that’s very different from American sportswear."

Was Aguilera pleased with her new garments? "She was really happy with the results," says Cha.

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA HITS BACK AT P!NK OVER LINDSAY LOHAN LESBIAN RUMOR

BY: Kerry DeVille

As Pink and Christina Aguilera fans battle it out across forums on the Internet an all out feud between the two pop divas seems to be a certainty.

Recently Pink claimed Aguilera confided in her that she had a lesbian crush on Lindsay Lohan and wanted to 'get it on' with her.

Now Christina has hit back, bitingly noting that 'I would never confide in anything to someone like Pink'. Now that has got to hurt!

'It seems like its war between these two now: there has always been a simmering tension between them and now it has come into the open' one insider commented. 'Pink is known to launch into jealous fits of rage from time to time. Who knows, perhaps Aguilera once rejected the rather sexually ambiguous Pink?'

Too soon in the game, but wrapping everything up now.”

[Sia and I] did a lot of work on this record together, and she’s just a complete gem. She’s truly just such a talented force to be reckoned with. And I so enjoyed her company, and I think we really created some super crazy magic together. I got a chance to sort of write with Santigold,M.I.A.,Lady Tron— artists that I really love.”

Christina Aguilera 'Thrilled' With Nearly Complete Album.

Christina Aguilera is thrilled with the anticipated follow up to 2006s "Back To Basics," an effort she calls "the best of both worlds".

"Working with so many different people, I really kind of wanted to step into their worlds, them into my world and just get the best of both worlds," Aguilera told listeners on her A.P.E. radio show of the album that will feature collaborative efforts with Santogold, M.I.A, and Lady Tron.

"The result was just crazy magic. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy on the record. Lots of good stuff in store!," says Aguilera.

While the "Keeps Gettin' Better" singer's excitement is evident, she does admit that the effort is not quite complete and it may be sometime before it arrives in stores.

The as-yet-untitled album, tentatively running with the theme "Light & Darkness," will be Aguilera's fourth studio album to be released since 1999.

Disney's Friends For Change (Christina Mentioned)

It's official. The first Disney Tween Supergroup has arrived.Apparently those gushy warm BFF feelings we see on TV extend to musical projects, as well. Introducing Disney's Friends For Change. (You never would have seen this kind of thing back in the day. No way, no how would Britney Spears share the screen with Christina Aguilera or have an on-screen duet with ex Justin Timberlake. But, the Mouse House has moved on and they have a new more mature tween these days, we suppose.)Those well-behaved tween superstars are now banding together for the environment and have released a video for "Send It On."Disney's Friends For Change includes Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. The song actually isn't that bad and with that kind of star power, we suspect we'll be hearing a lot more of the tune on the radio.

▒Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey▒

So it is evident that there was a clash of Divas! between Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, years ago. Miz Carey who has her hands full with a new battle with rapper, Eminem, shared an exchange of fighting words with Miz. Aguilera way back when. Niceties were left behind, and each singer exchanged snarky comments.

Now, obviously, I am team Aguilera from start to finish, so do not doubt in your pretty little minds for one split second. I, however, was recently thumbing through Mariah Carey's singles from then to now because I recently fell in love with 'Emotions' ever since fellow co-author, Josh, posted the Australian Idol Legends Video where they pay homage to Christina by emulating her 'Candyman' trio.

Blogger Talks about Christina's New Album.

The first news of Christina Aguilera's next album came in April, when Sia gave us an update on their collaboration via Twitter. News is now spreading that the songstress is gathering slews of indie faves to freshen up her "Dirrrty" sound.

Earlier this week Christina revealed (on her radio station... who knew?) that she has also teamed up with new mom M.I.A and the gorgeous Santigold for her upcoming fourth studio album, "Light & Darkness." Kudos, Chris -- snagging M.I.A. is a big deal! Aside from a Timbaland collaboration on his "Shock Value" album, this will be her only other music match-up in the pop world.

With other reported contributions coming from Le Tigre, Linda Perry, Tricky Stewart, Ladytron and Goldfrapp, I worry that this "new sound" she promises to bring may just be a whole bunch of other artists layered over the same tired X-tina antics. And even though I'm not the biggest Christina fan, I may just fall for her trickery. I mean I don't like cats, but if you dress one up like an adorable teddy bear and make it play the saxophone, I'll totally listen to it.

By Night (Fragrance).

Pop singer Christina Aguilera will launch Christina Aguilera By Night, her third fragrance under arrangements with Procter & Gamble, in September. The new scent for women is a flanker to her eponymous fragrance, Christina Aguilera, and is meant to be a sultry version for evening wear.

The fragrance notes include mandarin, freesia, rhubarb, peach blossom, pineapple, heliotrope, vanilla, moss and sandalwood.

Christina Aguilera By Night will be available in 15, 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. I do not know if it will launch in the US, but I would be surprised if it did since the original Christina Aguilera scent did not. (via parfumerie.nl)

"Burlesque" Update

Thanks to Christina Aguilera WORLD's MySpace bulletin, I ran across this interesting update regarding the release for the feature length film, Burlesque.
I don't know exactly how reliable IMDB.COM is, but it says that the release date for "BURLESQUE" will be November 24th, 2010. Seems like thats enough time to make the film so it could be true.

Transcript of Christina's Message to Fans

"I'm so glad you guys are liking my new channel. I got an email from Hillary in New York City who was asking about my new album and actually seems to be the number one topic, I know I can't let too much out of the bag too soon, I just can't, because I really want you guys to be surprised and to experience first-hand what I'm talking about-er-what I'm not talking too much about, too soon in the game. But wrapping everything up now, in the final stages of the record, and I'm just so thrilled, I think I'm most proud of this work than I have ever been, just because I have worked with so many amazing and incredible talented people, a lot of different collaborations, working with a lot of artists that I really love and listen to, respect and admire. Sia, the singer, songwriter has done some work with "Breathe Me," one of her main, amazing beautiful songs, we did a lot of work on this record together and she's just a complete gem, she's truly just a talented force to be reckoned with and I so enjoyed her company. I think we really created some super crazy magic together. I got the chance to sort of write with Santogold, M.I.A., Ladytron, artists that I really love. The overall versatility of this record is truly something special for me, I actually experimented with so many types of textures and sounds of my voice that I've never showcased and I've never even really knew that I could do. Working with so many different people, I really kind of wanted to step into their worlds, them into my world, and just get the best of both worlds and see what happened, and really experiment which is honestly what I try to do with every record so that I'm not making the same song over and over, and over again. I really like to step outside of my own box and really check out artists and this was the first time that I really collaborated with so many at once and it was just so exciting for me and the result was just magic and I just can't wait to share it all with you guys. I'm dying to share some of my titles of the record, some of the songs off the album because they're really special and just interesting to hear within itself, but soon enough guys, soon enough, I promise that it will be well worth the wait. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy on the record and as I said it's versatility is really special and it's something that I've never actually done before and being so versatile both vocally and musically, a lot of good stuff in store."

CHRISTINA WORKING WITH SANTOGOLD; M.I.A.

She just did a fairly lengthy (several minutes) message, saying that she’s getting the messages and that the question she’s getting asked the most is “what about the new album.” She said she’s “finishing it up” now, and that she understands we’re anxious to hear it, but she doesn’t want to spoil it. She said she’s very proud of it, thinks it’s her best work, and that she’s challenged herself by trying different sounds and textures, not only in the music, but in her own voice that she didn’t realize she was capable of.

She also said how great it was to work with the people she worked with, singling out Sia, whom she said she made some “crazy magic” with. She also finally confirmed that she worked with Ladytron and Santogold.

Update: According to XtinaNews, Christina is also working with M.I.A.

AUTOTUNE IS FOR PUSSIES

So after Christina's interesting wardrobe choice the other day, I have no doubts that Christina is going for a no holds-barred kind of attitude for this upcoming era. If her four new songs on 'Keeps Gettin' Better : A Decade of Hits' are truly in the vein of her new material, then fans, Xtinatron is promising us she will be a "Super Bitch!"

In all honesty, I believe people expect it from her to be blunt and candid as she did exceedingly well circa Stripped, more-so than her trying to be the "good girl next door" she emulated circa Back to Basics which she also did exceedingly well. I think this new attitude will be a step above that of Stripped and she will provide a powerful punch.

"Autotune is for pussies" - Christina Aguilera

[RUMOR] CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO WORK WITH 'BOOM' ARTIST, ANJULIE?

Editor's Note:

Bare with me guys, this was translated from German to English so it might confuse you a little...basically what it says is that Anjulie, the 'Boom' singer, (love that song by the way) will be working with Christina on her new album!
The Canadian singer and Songschreibern Anjulie will also work on Christina's new album. Thus it states at least in an article of the news page 'sydney-central.whereilive.com.au.' "Their success behind the footlights is guaranteed. It wrote the Eröffnungssong for Fame, the new film musical, and wrote for Chris Browns and Christina Aguilera's New Project." Here you can listen to their hit "Boom" which was 2009's No. 1 on the U.S. Dance Charts.

[PHOTO] CHRISTINA AGUILERA: 'AUTO TUNE IS FOR PUSSIES'

Christina Aguilera mentioned a “different” direction when discussing her album earlier this year. For those who thought the “Voice Within” singer was dabbling in auto-tune it looks like that option is out thanks to Aguilera’s t-shirt above.

Rocking a shirt that reads “Auto Tune is for pussies,” Aguilera made a statement without uttering a word… hopefully we’ll hear that new album soon...

[NEWS] PEREZ SPREADS SHIT ABOUT CHRISTINA

Quoting Perez Hilton:

This is some mayjah shiz talking!!

Celeb photographer Rankin has worked with some supreme divas including the likes of Kate Moss, La Loca and Madonna, but the only person he's gotta beef with is Christina Aguilera.

In the new issue of Closer magazine, Rankin had some choice words for the singer.

He dished:

"Christina was a diva from hell and pure torture to be around. She's so self-obsessed. She insisted her chauffeur drive her indoors into the studio so she wasn't papped - even though there was nobody outside. Then she crashed my after-party and her bodyguard stood outside the bathroom shouting: 'Nobody but Christina uses this toilet" She's a joke!"

We hope Rankin isn't found with a pitchfork through his heart!

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA WANTS TO EXPAND UPON HER FAMILY BUT LACKS THE TIME

Christina Aguilera wants to have more children — but she’s worried it’ll ruin her chances of making a musical comeback.

The singer — who gave birth to son Max in January last year — recently set up her own radio station and has just signed to new movie Burlesque.

And Aguilera feels her schedule is too busy to factor in having another baby just yet — even though her hubby Jordan Bratman wants her to.
“Christina loves her family time with Jordan and Max and now she has a studio at home, being a mum and working at the same time is a real possibility — but she doesn’t know if she wants to give up her other pursuits just yet,” says a source close to the singer.

“She has just signed for a new movie and has her radio venture too, so she feels now’s not a good time to have another baby — although she would adore another one. Especially a little girl.”

[NEWS] QUOTE OF THE DAY: 'WE MOVED INTO...'

"We moved into our new house about a year ago but since I started working on the record, I have a studio in the backyard … and it just has been so perfect for me to just wake up in the morning, put on my flip flops and sweat pants, and just go back in the studio and pretty much get into my creative cave and zone out that way, so it's been really convenient. So the paparazzi have probably been upset with me. I know they told my husband, they're like, 'Is she every going to leave the house?'"
