LOVE WANTED AGUILERA'S 'BEAUTIFUL'

Courtney Love has revealed that she "begged" songwriter Linda Perry to give her the hit song 'Beautiful' before it was released by Christina Aguilera.

Love, who recently released the album Nobody's Daughter with her band Hole, claimed that Perry said she would not be prepared for the attention that would come with the song.

"In my entire life I've never wanted a song fully rendered, that someone else has written - ever... [the song] was 11 years old at the time... and she ended up giving it to Christina Aguilera, but I begged her for it," Love said.

"She said to me at the time... 'You're not ready for top 40; you will be. You'll hate this song because you didn't write it' - which is totally true... and then we got into a fierce fight about whether she should give it to Britney [Spears] or Christina."

Despite refusing to give her the song, Love said that the former 4 Non Blondes singer insitsted the pair would eventually write a better track together.

Love continued: "She said, 'Someday, you and me are gonna write a song that's better and better suited for you'. Again it's an old song... She just whipped it out one day."
