Last week, the owner of Elite Aviation was partying with pop star Christina Aguilera to celebrate an exclusive deal to sell a line of premier Piaggio Aero jets.
"I wanted to launch my company under new ownership - and give it a new send-off," said Holifield, president and CEO of Elite Aviation, following the "All that is Fabulous" bash on Thursday that drew 400 VIP guests to mingle among luxury planes and cars, from Maseratis to Marilyn Monroe's pink Caddy, at the company's hangar at Van Nuys Airport.Holifield is one of the few woman in the world to own and operate a full-service premier charter jet company to whisk away a well-heeled and celebrity clientele.
"It's a beautiful plane - very sleek, very European, and it's as sexy as any Ferrari."
One of five fixed-base operators at Van Nuys Airport, Elite Aviation employs 34 workers - including three women executives - who manage and maintain a fleet of 13 charter jets.
The company, which flies clients such as Aguilera, provides 24-hour access to staff, concierge service and its in-house gourmet chef.
