[SPECULATION] CHRISTINA AGUILERA WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THE 2011 VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

Editor's Note:
Christina will most likely not attend the VMA's tonight. Afterall, she was last seen in Hawaii four days ago with Max, Matt, and her PA, Ashley, as seen HERE.

There is really no way in Hell Christina would race home to attend a dying ceremony on a network that was based on a dead concept.

Whether or not she'll be a part of the show in some shape or form is still unclear at this time.

[NEWS] FIVE MOST SHOCKING MOMENTS FROM THE MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS EVER!

[SMART-PHONE FRIENDLY]

2. Britney Spears kisses Madonna who kisses Christina Aguilera (2003):

The three most famed women in pop culture came together to perform Madonna's original '80s hit, "Like a Virgin/" But what really shook the stage was the three-way lip smack (at around 3:52 in the video), giving the star-filled audience a run for their money.

[NEWS] THE VMA'S 50 MOST OUTRAGEOUS FASHIONS

Most awards shows find movie stars, singers, and other entertainers trying to top each other with the most glamorous, classic dresses and tuxes in the world. But MTV's annual Video Music Awards have always been a showdown of outre apparel. From Outkast in shaggy Snuffleupagus pants and Wonka-orange lederhosen to Christina Aguilera using a scarf-like apparatus to, uh, lift and separate; to Mudvayne in formal white dinner jackets with bloody bulletholes in their foreheads: MTV's red carpet has hosted it all. And no one will soon forget Lady Gaga's red lace face-covering or, of course, last year's meat dress.

With this year's VMA's just around the corner on Aug. 28, there's no better time to look back at 50 of the most daring, bear-all, wacky and way-out costumes of music's hottest stars from the VMAs' 26 year history.

[RUMOR] CHRISTINA MAY BE A PART OF A VIDEO MONTAGE FOR BRITNEY SPEARS VMA TRIBUTE

“00:20: Intro Video (ft. Inside Out/Mickey Mouse Club Theme)

01:10: …Baby One More Time (Selena Gomez)

00:55: I’m A Slave 4 U (Miley Cyrus)

00:45: Toxic (Demi Lovato)

01:00: 3 (Selena/Miley/Demi)

01:15: Hold It Against Me (Katy Perry/Rihanna)

00:25: Till The World Ends-Rap Verse (Nicki Minaj)

00:15: Till The World Ends-Acapella (Britney Spears)

02:35: (Drop Dead) Beautiful (Britney Spears ft. Sabi)
The entire production will run 8 minutes, and will open the show. The introductory video will be eerie, and will feature a home video of a six year old Britney Spears playing with Barbies. This will lead into Selena Gomez singing “…Baby” in a signature school girl outfit. Followed by Miley Cyrus, whispering “…I know I may be young…” with a snake draped around her neck. Then, Demi Lovato enters rises from the center of the stage with a sequined costume on. As Demi’s song ends, all girls strut to left stage, put on Mickey Mouse ears and sing “3″ in a manner that will surely have people talking the next day. (Hint..Hint…think 2003) As their shocking performance ends, lights fade up on Katy Perry who is soon joined by Rihanna in singing “Hold It Against Me”. As their song ends, Nicki Minaj comes from the back of the audience wearing a ringleader outfit and singing her “World Ends” verse. As she finishes, all eyes shift to Britney who performs her song with Sabi. (Details of this will be available later)

Before Video of the Year is presented, there will be a video montage of Britney videos with excerpts of stars thanking Britney for her contributions to music including: Miley Cyrus (confirmed), Lady Gaga (confirmed), Justin Timberlake (unconfirmed), Selena Gomez (confirmed), Joe Jonas (confirmed), Will.I.Am (unconfirmed), and Christina Aguilera (unconfirmed). As the video ends, Madonna enters the stage, makes a brief statement and presents Britney the Lifetime Achievement Award.”

I won't be holding my breath on this one...

[VOTE] CHOOSE CHRISTINA FOR VMA 'MOST OUTRAGEOUS' 'MOMENT' & 'OUTFIT' & 'BEST VIDEO'

Outrageous moments are nothing new to the MTV Video Music Awards, the two go together like bread and butter.

We suppose things are bound to get a little wild when you throw the biggest stars in the world into a room for the express purpose of having a good time. The VMA's are unlike any other awards show around because the point isn’t to have a quiet, dignified gathering to honor the best album by a 100-piece orchestra; it’s to rock out and give props to the hottest things in music in a particular year.

Instead of sleepy applause and thanking the academy, you get the Queen of Pop locking lips with her heir apparent or living legend Diana Ross getting a little grabby with an overexposed Lil Kim. That’s just how we roll here at MTV.

While just about every VMA moment is pretty outrageous, a few definitely stand out and have withstood the test of time to burn themselves into the collective consciousness of we connoisseurs of pop culture. Help us decide which of these eight incidents is the most outrageous moment in VMA history.

Award shows are all about fashion. We drool over the glamorous gowns actresses sport for the Oscars and the Golden Globes and scour the Internet to see who dressed like a fool at the Grammys. But what happens when the traditional rules of award show attire go out the window?

The MTV Video Music Awards, that’s what!

At the VMA's, sexy is key and anything goes. It's all about who can get the most ink for wearing the wildest outfit. Seriously, what other awards show can say someone wore a meat dress to their festivities?

From pacifiers and pasties to dresses that also serve as advertisements and men in pink pleather and roller skates, wild outfits are the norm at the VMA's. But who takes the cake for the most outrageous outfit ever?

The ‘90s shattered the conventions of the music video. Suddenly every musician wanted their video to be the biggest and splashiest of all. Budgets roared to insane levels – Michael and Janet Jackson’s 1995 video for "Scream" is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive ever, costing around $7 million – and video directors became stars themselves (hello, Hype Williams, David Fincher and Mark Romanek).

So by the 00s, a video had to be on point to get much attention at the MTV Video Music Awards. The concept had to be solid, the costumes needed to be out of this world and the special effects had to be through the roof. You want a brothel featuring some of the biggest pop starlets in the world? You got it – Christina, Pink, Mya and Lil Kim are waiting. Care to see Rihanna control water with her bare hands? Just don’t forget your “Umbrella.”

It’s a lot to live up to. But so far eleven videos can call themselves the best videos of their respective years. Which one is the best of the decade? We’ll leave that one up to you guys.
