[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO BE FEATURED ON PBS DOCUMENTARY: 'WOMEN WHO ROCK'

Bessie Smith to Lady Gaga is a wide swath in modern music, and “Women Who Rock” includes them and many in between Friday on PBS.

“Rock 'n' roll is a very wide river,” filmmaker Carol Stein says. She and Susan Wittenberg “wanted people who represented various eras,” Stein says.

“We were trying to figure it out by categories,” Wittenberg says. “It's a big tent.”

Though there's a chasm between Mahalia Jackson and Madonna, and both are featured in the film, the common denominator is music with attitude.

The documentary opens with James Brown singing, “This is a man's world.” It soon cuts to Christina Aguilera belting the same song, and the irony is lost on no one.

Women are the top grossers in music in the 21st century, the documentary notes. But women's rock roots go back to the beginnings of the genre.

The catalyst for the film was an exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, which helped the filmmakers decide who should be in the documentary. Darlene Love was finally inducted in 2011, and though her legions of fans had been asking about her inclusion for years, Love was sanguine.

[NEWS] 'MOVES LIKE JAGGER' MAKES ROLLING STONE'S TOP TEN IN 'THE BEST SONGS OF SUMMER'

It may not officially be fall until September 23rd, but by our count, summer is over. It was a time of crappy blockbuster sequels, massive U2 stadium concerts, Michele Bachmann's rise (and fall) as a serious presidential candidate, and earthquakes and hurricanes that seemed to foretell a coming apocalypse. Somehow we survived it all and now can look back with instant nostalgia.

10. Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera, 'Moves Like Jagger'
NBC's The Voice seemed like another American Idol knock-off doomed to the same reality show dustbin where Chains of Love and Love Cruise now reside. Surprisingly enough, the show found a huge audience –and managed to reinvigorate the careers of judges Adam Levine and Christine Aguilera. They teamed up on this dance song that became a much-needed radio hit for both artists. It also joins the list of recent pop songs to reference Mick Jagger – including Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" and Kanye West's "Swagga Like Us."

9. Adele, 'Rolling In The Deep'
The biggest album of the year was supposed to be Lady Gaga's Born This Way. Then Adele came out of nowhere with her second album 21 and crushed everything in its path. The LP was propelled by the single "Rolling In The Deep," which has been inescapable all year. It's been on Gossip Girl, Glee and pretty much every other show on television. "I love seeing Lady Gaga's boobs and bum,"Adele told Rolling Stone in April. "I love seeing Katy Perry's boobs and bum. Love it. But that's not what my music is about. I don't make music for eyes. I make music for ears."

8. Good Charlotte, '1979'
No, Good Charlotte didn't release a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' "1979" this summer. This is an original song that looks back nostalgically on a simpler time. "The Clash was on the radio," Joel Madden sings. "And Mom and Dad were still in love in 1979. It was a good good year." He also references "Heart of Glass," "Rock & Roll High School" and "Dream Police." Madden was born in March of 1979, so the dude must have a pretty good memory.

7. Lady Gaga, 'Edge of Glory'
Lady Gaga wrote this song about her grandfather dying, but after recruiting Clarence Clemons to play sax on the song it's become an unlikely tribute to the the Big Man. He played the track with her on the finale of American Idol and shot a video for it shortly before he died. "She's the real deal," Clemons told Rolling Stone in February. "All the craziness and stuff, there's a purpose to all of it. She has no boundaries . . . It's a day I'll never forget. I always wait for Bruce to call and say 'come do this' and it's real exciting for me. I never saw this happening, though."

6. Red Hot Chili Peppers, 'The Adventures of Raindance Maggie'
The Red Hot Chili Peppers had a lot to prove when they released the first single from I'm With You. It was the public's first look at new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who has the incredibly difficult task of replacing the mighty John Frusciante. The debut single "The Adventures of Raindance Maggie" charted all over the world, and hit Number One on the American Rock Songs chart – proving the band does have life after Frusciante. For the video, they took a page out of the Beatles and U2 playbook by playing on a rooftop. Unlike those previous two rooftop shoots, nobody tried to shut them down.

5. Panic! at the Disco, 'Ready to Go (Get Out of My Mind)'
Panic! at the Disco have had a rough past few years. Their 2008 LP Pretty. Odd was a drastic change from their emo roots, and they even dropped the exclamation mark from their name. Fans were pissed, and they just got angrier when half the band left the group in the summer of 2009. On their newest album they brought back the exclamation mark and their old sound. What remains of their fanbase is very pleased.

4. Coldplay, 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall'
Coldplay are one of the last rock bands that can reliably release a big hit single in advance of every new album. Hell, even U2 can't pull that off anymore. Coldplay say that their upcoming Mylo Xyloto is inspired by 1980s American graffiti, and the video for "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" certainly plays into that theme. It remains to be seen whether Coldplay can keep up this momentum with their next few singles from the LP.

3. Foo Fighters, 'Walk'
During Nirvana's heyday few people predicted that the drummer would pull a Phil Collins and become a superstar outside of the band, but that's exactly what he's done. The Foo Fighters just seem to get more and more popular. As big as they are here in America, they're even bigger in Europe. It's truly remarkable. Their new album Wasting Light was cut in Dave Grohl's garage with Nevermind producer Butch Vig. The single "Walk" was inspired by Dave Grohl's attempts to teach his daughter to walk.

2. Foster the People, 'Pumped Up Kicks'
"Pumped Up Kicks" sounds like a sugary pop song, but when you stop and listen to the lyrics it's clear the song is about a psychotic kid who pulls a gun on the popular kids at this school. It's sort of a "Jeremy" for a new generation. Recorded by the Los Angeles indie pop band Foster the People, "Pumped Up Kicks" is one of the surprise hits of 2011, rising to Number Three on the Billboard Hot 100.

1. Britney Spears, 'I Wanna Go'
This wasn't even close. Britney won by a landslide, which shouldn't come as any surprise. The woman works with the most successful pop songwriters in the industry. This track was co-written by Swedish songwriting legend Max Martin – the man behind everything from "Since U Been Gone" to "I Want It That Way" to Britney's first hit "...Baby One More Time." He's a 40-year-old Swedish guy, but he knows exactly what American teenage girls want to blast in their cars. The video for "I Wanna Go" starts with Britney giving a press conference, which is hysterical because she's one of the least media-accessible singers in the world. It's easier to get a sit-down with Bob Dylan than it is with Britney.

[NEWS] UNRELEASED RECORDINGS REVEAL CONSPIRACY AGAINST CHRISTINA AGUILERA

Your Chicago Pop Music Examiner recently attended a secret meeting at the Hilton in Downtown Chicago. I wasn't told what it was about (I assumed a bunch of Lady Gaga fans gathered there to kill me), but had to go due to curiosity.

There were seven people at this meeting and I was basically strip searched so I couldn't record any information. An audio recording, which took place on April 2, 2010, was played and featured a bunch of people in a room talking about ways to destroy Christina Aguilera's upcoming "atomic disaster" Bionic.

"I have already emailed Perez Hilton ," a man with a thick Middle Eastern accent said. Another suggested that they "work the phones," which sounded like he meant to have people call radio stations and tell them to not play the the album's first single "Not Myself Tonight."

"Nobody cares about the phones; it's all about the blogs!" a frog-like voice that belonged to a guy named Roger revealed. The next part of the tape featured the group playing "Not Myself Tonight" and laughing over it. After the record stopped, insults were made about Christina Aguilera that are too offensive to talk about here.

The guy who led the present meeting at the Hilton was a former record executive who now teaches at Columbia University. He believes the April 2, 2010 meeting was held by Interscope executives. However, the name Lady Gaga wasn't mentioned once in the recording.

UPDATE:

Peter Buchanan Examiner · 46 years old

I wish I could post the recording I heard, but can't (yet). However, all my posts are true and this will be proven so soon enough. Notice, I didn't say that this was the work of Interscope. However, it is suggested by a lot of people that it is.

[NEWS] 'ONLY CHRISTINA AGUILERA HAS UNDERSTOOD WHAT MADONNA'S GAME IS ABOUT...'

Through music history we have seen, fortunately, all kind of artists and singers doing their thing. Female singers have paid the price of gender inequality. Still, it never mattered at all for people like Tracy Chapman, Sinéad O'Connor or Tori Amos: all of them are brave, valuable, talented women never afraid to speak their minds.

But when it comes to sex, people have the weirdest reactions, thoughts and feelings. If you put together sex and music the thing gets hotter. Well, "hotter" if you are a man. For women it just gets harder and harder, no pun intended.

Just ask Madonna: she has taken all kind of insults, derogatory terms and even death threats only for being sexual and herself at the same time. She did use sex a lot as a form of marketing. But according to all her detractors who claimed she just "sells sex" and nothing else, her career would have ended as soon as 1994 arrived. Right?

But Ciccone evolved from being the 'sexiest' pop star to the most influential and successful woman in show biz history. Too much to say. But albums like "Ray of Light", "Like a Prayer", "True Blue", "Music" or "Confessions on a Dance Floor" speak volumes about her artistry and points of view as a woman. Nevertheless, controversy has never been away from her. Do you remember The Confessions Tour's Live To Tell on-stage performance?

There's something "bad" about queen of pop's legacy though not entirely her fault: She made believe to a whole new generation of pop stars that, by taking your clothes off and acting sexy all around you can be the greatest music star. It has worked for many: just take a look at Britney Spears, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and even the talentless I-can't-sing-a-single-note Katy Perry.

But just a few of all these women, let's say only Christina, have understood what Madonna's game was about: it's a lot easier to show off your naked body on a video or onstage than producing an album like Ray of Light. In other words, sex was only a part of Madonna's media attack.

Samantha Fox was very sexy too, so was Sabrina Salerno or Apollonia Kotero. They showed some skin too. But none of them were able to get people questioning about themselves, life and art like Madge has. Many of her detractors have not listened to masterpieces like "Promise To Try", "Live To Tell", "X-Static Process" or "Nothing Fails". But again, does it really matter what they think?

Only time will tell who of all these new young stars stays and who disappears. And in the middle of this media fever of sexy starlets, Madonna can only smile and think... "I'm pretty much up there with Aretha, Tina, Barbra and Janis... now dare to dream!"

[PHOTO] THE SEVEN VILLAINS OF POP

The harvest of the human seed, the Earth is a corpse field, collected on the wagons, catapulted into mass graces. Foul air corrodes the skin. The trumpets sound the alarm of the overwhelming onslaught.

Deep gaps do open, devouring the dead. Horribly distorted faces leaking decay. No conflict resolution, no bond to fix the fault lines. Take the breath from the Earth. And again and again the clouds will come. Split the sky, consume the drowning horizon.

Fire red as it flashes, but does not thunder. Embrace the hour of devastation. Bringer of war. Take the breath from the Earth. Bringer of war. Take the breath from the Earth. There will never be peace. We will never be safe again.

No conflict resolution, no bond to fix the fault lines. Take the breath from the Earth. No history to tell, no legacy to leave behind, no future generation. Take the breath from the Earth.

Funeral for a failing race. A mass of graves where the soil bleeds. reborn from the rotted caskets. This is the harvest of the human seed. The Earth is a corpse field.

THE EARTH MUST COME TO AN END.

[NEWS] FURTHER DETAILS ON 2010 BACKLASH LEAK OUT

Chicago’s B96 talked about my story about the conspiracy against Christina Aguilera’s album Bionic. Actually, the story has made news everywhere and I have received mostly positive feedback with many thanking me for exposing what has been going on in the music industry for years.

Rick Sanchez from Data Analytics contacted me yesterday and informed me that “Not Myself Tonight” received excellent call-out research results in April of 2010. “She had a higher rating than just about any song on the radio at that time. It was a guaranteed hit. But something happened. And I don’t think it was something very ethical.” Mr. Sanchez noted that within one week, the call-out research scores suddenly dropped and that never happens with a single. “Usually, a song gains call-out research points or loses points very slowly.”

Mr. Sanchez revealed that in the past, call-out research scores for songs such as “I Drove All Night” by Celine Dion and “It’s Like That” by Mariah Carey had been manipulated, but nobody knew until a couple years back. “Some people may not think this is important, but call-out research scores determine radio airplay.” So, why was Christina Aguilera’s song tampered with?

“I have absolutely no direct proof, but definitely believe this is the work of Lady Gaga and her team. You would have no idea how much power Lady Gaga has (or had) in the industry. Many people I know refer to Lady Gaga as the Tanya Harding of the music industry. I hope I am wrong because I would like to think that nobody could be that vile.”

[NEWS] THE CONSPIRACY BEHIND CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S 'BIONIC' BOMB

In March of 2010, Chicago radio programmers and deejays got an early listen to Christina’s new album Bionic. The response was very positive, but folks tied to Interscope Records (Lady Gaga’s record company) kept insisting that the record was a bomb.

In fact, some of Lady Gaga’s handlers allegedly kept referring to Christina as “Floptina,” a name celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was allegedly told to use. When the first single arrived in April of 2010, initial response was positive. However, there were many people who called into radio stations to insult the song. “This was obviously the work of some anti-Christina street team doing this and not regular listeners. They concentrated on big markets like Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City and Miami.”

The video for “Not Myself Tonight” didn’t help the single. But it wasn’t as bad as Perez Hilton and Akon (another factor in the Christina Aguilera backlash) made it out to be. Apparently, Akon (Lady Gaga’s friend) was telling everybody it was a ripoff of Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” This occurred even after Akon heard an early demo of “Born This Way,” which some say sounded more like the Madonna hit than the final version released in February of 2011.

“Perez Hilton was still angry at Christina Aguilera for making negative comments about his marketing partner Lady Gaga. He was out to get Christina from the very beginning. Unfortunately—then—Perez Hilton still had an influence on the music industry. Now, he is seen as an absolute joke and Lady Gaga’s career is going down faster than the atomic bomb. The fact that her album was practically given away for free proves this,” says a music industry insider.

Bionic was released on June 24, 2010 to mixed reviews. However, reviewers had already been told by music industry “insiders” (a.k.a. ‘friends’ of Lady Gaga) that the album was a flop. There was no way the album could have received objective reviews.

Program Director Jared Stelling believes the Christina Aguilera backlash was the absolute work of Lady Gaga and her friends. “You would not believe how the industry works and how much power one star has to bring another down. A couple years back, Mariah Carey hired a couple journalists to write negative things about Madonna and her tour. One of the writers worked for MSN and was fired when the truth came out. Luckily, that didn’t stop Madonna from selling tickets. Unfortunately, Christina couldn’t even launch a tour because of the backlash. It’s pretty pathetic. However, karma exists and right now, Lady Gaga is sinking faster than the Titanic.”

Source: The Examiner

Editors Note:

Reading this just pisses me the F**K off. Excuse my French. I seriously believe this is true. Ever since the beginning of the Bionic era we heard nothing but negative crap come from Lady Gaga's friends and confidants about 'Bionic' being a knockoff of Lady Gaga's sound. Then shortly after her pathetic monsters chimed in and tore 'Bionic' apart. They didn't give her a chance to prove that the songs in that album were amazing. But I wasn't surprised to find out that 'Bionic' was the 2nd most illegally downloaded album of 2010. Billboard named 'Bionic' album of the year. Leave it to delusional 'monsters' and their pathetic carbon copy Queen to ruin someones hardwork without facts. Karma's a bitch and she's coming for your wig... bitch.

[NEWS] LADY GAGA'S AGUILERA MAKEOVER!

LADY GaGa steps out looking remarkably similar to singing rival Christina Aguilera.
For years we've applauded the superstar for her unique sense of style.

But with her bright red lips, pale face, fake eyelashes and poker straight long hair parted in the middle, she appears to have pinched Xtina's stylist and make-up team.

The daring figure-hugging black dress is also something one would expect to find in Miss Aguilera's wardrobe.

The star's new look was unveiled as GaGa left the posh Chateau Marmont in Hollywood for her appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show.

[NEWS] CUSTOM MADE CORSETS MADE FOR 'BURLESQUE'

They are normally the restricting costume pieces of Jane Austen TV adaptations.

But corsets are very much back in the present-day - although they are more likely to be worn over, than under, clothes.

Sales of luxury fashion girdles are up 70 per cent, a Selfridges spokesman said.

The boom is thanks largely to their popularity among celebrities including singers Rihanna and Lady Gaga 'running around town in their knickers'.

Stocks of a £900 handmade feather-fringed corset sold out within 24 hours at the London department store. More of the piece, by Bordelle, were ordered, but the new stock again vanished from shelves within a day.

British designer Alex Popa, who founded Bordelle two years ago, said: 'The items are more flexible than traditional pieces.

'If you are daring enough, you could pair a corset with leggings and go out clubbing or to a party. But they can also be worn in the boudoir.'

Miss Popa says she has created corsets for Lady Gaga and singer Shakira, as well as for Christina Aguilera's new movie, Burlesque.

'The pieces are expensive, but we have had people who have wanted to get stuff from us for some time and they have saved up to buy a piece,' added the 27-year-old.
