Best Bets: The year's top toon (and top-grossing film), 'Toy Story 3' is a shoo-in. Fellow crowd-pleasing CGI comedy 'Despicable Me' is probably in there, too. 'Burlesque' will probably not get nominated for too many Oscars, but it's a lavish musical with two red carpet-worthy stars (Cher and Christina Aguilera), so it'll make the cut here. Rounding out the top picks are critically acclaimed dramedies 'The Kids Are All Right' and 'Love and Other Drugs.'BEST ACTRESS: COMEDY OR MUSICAL
Strong Contenders: This year's other big animated hits -- 'Tangled,' 'Megamind,' 'Shrek Forever After,' and 'How to Train Your Dragon' -- all have a shot. So does 'How Do You Know,' because you can't count out auteur James L. Brooks ('Broadcast News,' 'As Good As It Gets') or a cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson. If the voters decide 'Alice in Wonderland' is a comedy, it makes the list as well. Live-action comedy hits 'The Other Guys,' 'Date Night' and 'Get Him to the Greek' can't be counted out, and neither can Ben Stiller's indie comedy 'Greenberg.'
Long Shots: There's British upstart 'Made in Dagenham' and the subtler Britcom 'Another Year,' from awards magnet Mike Leigh ('Secrets & Lies,' 'Vera Drake'). Jim Carrey's outsized performance as a gay con artist in 'I Love You Phillip Morris' could help sell its difficult subject matter to the voters, and the star power of Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning could remind voters that 'The Runaways' was a musical, sorta.
Best Bets: Annette Bening's prickly lesbian mom in 'The Kids Are All Right' has owned this category for months. Anne Hathaway has been earning raves for her bravery (read: willingness to shed her clothes) in 'Love and Other Drugs,' so she gets a spot, too.Source: MovieFone
Strong Contenders: While Bening has the edge, her character's partner (and perennial nominee) Julianne Moore could make the list, too. So could Reese Witherspoon ('How Do You Know') and Tina Fey ('Date Night'). And because the category also includes musicals, Cher and Christina Aguilera from 'Burlesque' both have a leg up.
Long Shots: Sally Hawkins and Lesley Manville (who?) from Britcoms 'Made in Dagenham' and 'Another Year,' respectively; and 'The Runaways' co-leads Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.
