CHRISTINA AGUILERA STILL HAS A 'SUPERIOR VOCAL INSTRUMENT'

Fresh from singing at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, Christina Aguilera stopped by the Today show this morning to belt out a few songs.

"The toughest part is the schedule," she told People.com on Sunday, switching from pop star to "being a mommy and being able to still concentrate and focus on the work. I'll go and tuck my son in at night and sing him to sleep [with] a lullaby, and then I go in the studio and sing. It's definitely a challenge and a balancing act, but one that I take on. I wouldn't have it any other way."

While Perez Hilton has been relentlessly bashing Xtina and some critics haven't been kind either, USA TODAY's Elysa Gardner reviews her new Bionic album, out today, and likes it, noting at one point:

Aguilera possesses an asset that many competitors lack: a superior vocal instrument. And on Bionic, she harnesses her prowess with greater maturity and imagination.
