Christina Aguilera (ag-wuh-LEHR'-uh) and Selena Gomez are the leading nominees for the ALMA Awards, which honor the artistic accomplishments of Latinos in music, television and film.

[NEWS] UPDATES ON 'BURLESQUE'

IT'S GOING DOWN! More actors and actresses are being added to the Cast of the highly anticipated feature film, "Burlesque," which marks Christina Aguilera's Film Debut. Filming for the Movie begins on Nov. 9th.

Christina has been fitted for the outfits for the movie and is now concentrating on learning her lines and nailing the role right on the target. Mrs. Aguilera-Bratman is a perfectionist, and I believe she's going to do amazingly well in this project! 2010 is going to be a golden year for Christina. Her other anticipated project, "Light and Darkness," marks her fourth studio album. The project is finally completed but won't be out in stores until "Burlesque" is completed as well. Here is a list of the cast so far:

Casting for the movie is being done by Chris Bustard extras casting.

CAST:

Christina Aguilera - ?

Cher - Tess

Stanley Tucci - ?

Cam Gigandet - Jack

Kristen Bell - Nikki

TyneStecklein-Jesse

ChelseaTraille-Coco

Rumor has it that this movie could bring Christina her first Golden Globe Nomination! AND IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN FILMED YET!!!! TWEET THIS!!!

Here is a comment by onemanorchestra about Burlesque on IMDb's website:

"Chill you guys! Cher actually is an amazing actress and singer. Christina is an amazing singer. When Cher wanted to act people laughed at her, but the second film she shot in her acting career earned her an Oscar nomination, the year after that she won the damn thing.

Acting and singing isn't that different. You need to believe the message the people on or the ones singing the song are telling you. I believe Cher when she's singing and when she's acting. I believe Christina when she's singing, so i'll probably believe her when she's acting.

I've never believed a word Mariah Carey or Britney Spears sang to me. I didn't believe what they told me in their movies.

I'm not worried...

Cher's a talented actress and she'll look after Christina, and vice versa, if one of them looks bad, they both will.

I am looking forward to this movie. A new Chicago/Moulin Rouge kind of thing? I'm game, especially with those two amazing women. And especially especially if they'll do a duet!"

[NEWS] GRAMMY'S RETURN WITH PRIME-TIME NOMINEE SPECIAL ALBEIT AT A COZIER VENUE

The Recording Academy will unveil the nominees for its 52nd annual Grammy Awards on Dec. 2, once again announcing the honors with a prime-time concert special on CBS. Performers and presenters for the nominee concert, which will air live from downtown's Club Nokia for the East Coast at 9 p.m., have not yet been announced. The Grammy Awards will take place on Jan. 31, 2010, at the Staples Center.

Last year marked the first time that the academy revealed its nominees in prime time, attempting to turn a news conference into a national event. Performers included Taylor Swift, B.B. King, Christina Aguilera, the Foo Fighters and John Mayer.

Ratings, however, did not match the star power.

CBS garnered about 7.1 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research, finishing in fourth place for the time period. The numbers left some wondering if CBS and the academy would continue with a prime-time nominee special, yet its return hardly comes as a surprise. Earlier this year, Recording Academy chief Neil Portnow told Pop & Hiss that the nominee concert would in all likelihood return.

Viewers can expect about six categories to be announced on the special. Not much information was revealed in today's press release, but there is at least one change in store for the 2009 edition. While still taking place at downtown's L.A. Live complex, the Grammy nominee concert has been downgraded from the 7,000-plus-seat Nokia Theater to the 2,300-capacity Club Nokia. Last year's event was far from a packed house, and discounted tickets were offered in the days leading up to the show.

The eligibility period for the 2010 Grammys ended Sept. 1. Pop & Hiss recently began offerings initial Grammy predictions, providing an early look at album of the year contenders.
